Looking to lower my charger a bit and get some 20in rims to replace the Steel ones. I've found a kit by EiBach for factory chargers spring replacement. But I'm not to sure how it will turn out being that the police package has a different stance than factory. I've heard the police package has similar to the R/Ts ride height, when measuring (on a terribly not flat surface) from center bottom tire tread to the panel, I get 31in in the front and 30in in the rear. The kit specifies it's a drop of 1.5 in the front to 1.7 in the rear. I would like to achieve a rather level height which the kit attempts for factory height but I'm not to sure this would work in my case.

Appreciate all thoughts and opinions
Thanks,
BarzaCharger

You need to find out if you have the Sachs Nivomat rear shocks.... if you do they will keep your rear end pumped up through the self leveling action. In that case you need to change the rear shocks along with the springs to get a drop in the rear.

The Police Spec chargers have stiffer springs and sit a bit higher since they assume a heavy equipment load. I don't know what year your car is but here is what SRT engineers said in 2009:

The R/T Charger uses 204 lb/in front and and 514 lb/in rear with Nivomat rear shock.
The R/T Challenger uses 224 front 514 rear with Nivomat rear shock, 547 rear without nivomat.
The 300C SRT8 uses 227f, 622r.
The Charger and Magnum SRT8 use 284f, 778r.
The Challenger SRT8 uses 261f, 669r.

SRT8s sit 1/2" lower than the 5.7L and 3.5L rwd cars. The cop car springs are 250f, 652 rear (with Nivomat), but sit even taller than base car due to how they are typically loaded down.

Awesome, I will definitely check that. I figured I would run into an issue when installing and this confirms. Thanks!

UPDATE

Found a thread on lxfourms that is very helpful.
In short police package have self loading shocks in the rear with no springs so you would need to change all suspension components on the rear, shocks springs etc.
Lowering my 2010 Charger Police
They still have springs it is just that the Nivomat shocks are designed to keep the rear level no matter if you have 2 perps in the back and lots of gear in the trunk!

I used to have a 2006 R/T R&T and just like the Daytona models it too had the Nivomat rear shocks (and a 30 mm front sway bar). I ended up putting the shocks/springs/struts out of a 2010 Challenger SRT and it rode great then.

Oops, I need to edit that I meant to say no matter the springs, so if you want to lower the rear with just springs it wont work.
