I wouldn't worry about the door handles and key hole issues. I've never heard anyone failing safety inspections because of those. Air bags are not permitted, but I don't think most stations really get that in depth. There is a Reconstruction Permit process that can get detailed. Look that section up on line in Hawaii gov't pages web site. "Recon" is needed prior to a safety check tag, and it deals w/ dropped suspensions, larger than OEM wheels....good luck.

Man for once I'm glad I live in Cali. They harsh on intake, exhaust and don't check anything else out here.

thanks man much appreciated..... the guy i talked to said that the air bag permit is getting better. he said that as long as it was put in by cutting and welding into the frame and stuff it should be no problem passing. but he doesnt work for the gov. either just a carquest shop. i know alot of the suspension stuff has to do with the alignment and stuff so i hope i wont run into problems especially since i saw some dude the other day drive a chopped up ride with like 30s on it like he was in florida , lol.....it was raised higher then some trucks ive seen lol.... thanks for the info man.... could you throw a link my way for some of this info cause for some reason i cant seem to find shiat..thanks again man... hope to meet up with you guys soon ....
