Hey Guys, I like to do things the correct way, but figured I'd plasti dip the front grill on my 13 rt charger before spending the cash on a OEM black grill. I new I should not have gone this route,,,, 3 weeks ago, I spent 4 hours at my buddies heated shop taping off and plast dipping the grill, 500 miles and only 2 drive thru washes, the cold article michigan winter has already caused it to lift. The dip is now lifting in 4 spots. Just wanted to give a FYI.... This stuff can't take the real cold weather.

Anyone have their grill vinyl wrapped???

Thx guys

First off, I'll rephrase "cold" it was 17 below today with -44 windchill.

As far as dirt, no sir, I used to paint custom cars, the grill was rubbed with alcohol and sprayed with 4 coats in a heated shop. Grill was left to cure for 36 hours before I drove. It was not washed for 5 days.

had some dirt or condensation under it which caused it to lift.[/QUOTE]

4 coats isn't enough. 5 coats at the very, very minimum.

Its been below zero here in the northeast a few times this year....and my car is dipped front to back...not a single issue and I drive it daily.

Sounds like either poor install or not enough/too thin coats. Do you have pics of where it is lifting?
