Hello everyone,

First post, I was really curious to see what everyone's thoughts are on the overall reliability of the 2011 through 2014 RTs are. What are some issues you guys have had? Anyone not had any issues? If you could go back, would you buy your car again?

I do a few ride alongs (at least 2-3 a month) with my county's Sheriff's Office. I only ride in either a 2011 or 2012 Charger. The 2011 has had a few issues. For example, we were running hot once and it just stalled around 105mph (Jerked the vehicle a little, wouldn't go any faster but didn't slow down), we were able to speed up to about 135-140 after a few seconds of that though. The transmission also has a few issues sometimes when he is WOT. It shifts pretty hard with a slight judder to it. His TPS system has had issues.

The 2012 charger has had a few minor issues like a seat belt sensor cable coming lose and now he has a passenger air bag issue that needs fixed.

Granted, both of these cars have had the crap beat out of them over the years. The 2011 has almost 90K miles on it and gets floored several several times a day.

I would like a 2013 or 2014 white RT Max RWD. I won't be buying for awhile, I am just someone that likes to plan ahead.

Thanks guys!

Reliability has been good. Couple of issues plagued earlier models, but there hasn't been a consistent issue that's been apparent in the later years.

I'll second that - my 'RT has been free of problems and is now over three years old with 44k. And yes, I would buy it again. And even though Consumer Reports gives it a below average reliability rating, I'd say it was due to the fact that they're considering all the many trim options and the new 8 speed trans problems. However, when they surveyed s

mt 11 R/T has had 2 issues: the bracket that supports the valve body in the tranny broke (not common, but not unheard of. my car was the 4th since the LX's came out in 2006 to have the issue at my dealer...the other 3 were cop cars FWIW), and a lifter that went bad and needed to be replaced.

other than that, I'm still in love with my car and am happy with it. if I were to do it over again, the only change I would make would have been to perhaps spring for the Road and Track package. and get it in plum crazy, but that wasn't offered until 3 years after I bought my toxic orange beast.

Bought my 12 RT brand new,

Major:
torque converter failed at 2 years, 30,000 miles.

transmission speed sensor failed at around 15k miles. It put the car into limp mode, had to get it towed to the dealer.

Minor:
Air conditioner leaked refrigerant.
Auto headlights failed to work (bad sun load sensor)

All were fixed under warranty.

...and I would still buy another Charger over anything else.

2012 SXT been problem free except for a bad water pump that was replaced free under warranty a couple months after I bought it when I noticed a high-pitched squealing noise. Other than that, I've had no issues worth noting. The driver's seat is a little creaky and I think I need to lube up a cup at the bottom of my steering column (I hear a little rubbing noise at low-speed turning) but to describe these issues as a big deal would be inaccurate. I drove a VW once and let's just say that $800 window motor repairs and headlights that burned out every 2 months were par for the course in that car. My charger has been the most reliable and enjoyable car I've ever owned.

My '12 R/T has 35K and problems have been very minor.

Sunroof shade rattled(they re-adjusted the channel to correct)
Underbody splash shield came loose(possibly something flew up from the road and caused that)

Other than those two things, that has been it for problems. Now I do have a couple of minor things I've recently noticed that I'm going to take it in for before the 3/36 expires. Nothing major; I'll occasionally get the "FCW off" message shortly after starting the car. It goes away and the system works fine after about 30 seconds of driving. I've also recently started noticing a "creak" in the front when making a sharp turn with the car at an angle such as backing out of a driveway. But that's it! I don't abuse the car, but I drive it the way a Hemi is meant to be driven and so far it's holding up well. As for would I do it again? Heck yes!!
