I have been driving with the oil message for about a week. My dealer can only schedule me for 8 days from now. Am I causing any damage?
Last oil change was 5k miles ago, oil used was mobile one synthetic

5k for the light to come on seems early. I wonder if it was reset the last time.
I change oil (synthetic) every 5k and just use the odometer as a reminder so I reset the light when it comes on. If I remember correctly I went two changes before the light came on last time.
8 more days to wait? Maybe depends more on how many miles that is. Hopefully someone with an SRT will have some input but I can't imagine it being a problem.
Also seems like a poor dealership that doesn't have a fast lane for oil changes or makes you wait 8 days for an oil change.

Mobil 1 allows more wear than you would want normally.

Here is a Mobil 1 sample with 4,900 miles on it.

9 chromium, 16 lead 7 nickel! Not exactly good for a 5.7L Hemi!

You can always get rid of the Mobil 1 and go with a QuantumBlue Custom Blend!

That way you can go 10k miles on 1 oil change and save the other 1.5 hours to do something else with while you get better internal protection using QB than the Mobil 1.

Add ACES IV to the mix and we have people going 10k, 12k, 14k, 16.6k and as high as 18,230 miles on 1 oil change in a 5.7L VVT MDS Hemi......with no wear!

0 chromium, 0 lead, 0 nickel in an oil change that is more than 3 times longer than 5,000 miles!

Just though you should know.

Brian

Oh, that explains why you are waiting. And maybe why the dealer is treating you that way. :(
I threw my free oil change certificates away. I don't let anyone do stuff to my car that I can do myself. But I am lucky having a garage and a climate that lets me work on my car year round. I had a little different attitude when I lived in a trailer park in Ohio in the winter.

I will be on my 4th oil change using BND motor oil. Each technician tells me how "clean" the oil comes out. They said whatever oil I'm using is high quality. o yea!!!

No problem waiting 8 days. You are good to 6k miles at least.

How would I Know when I need to change the oil with Aces?
Thats a good question! We have seen oil changes in the 8k mile range without ACES IV doing good. When we add ACES IV to the mix along with the QuantumBlue Custom Blends, we see 12k, 14k, 16k and 18k miles with the oil still protecting the engine.

Remember that using QuantumBlue Lubricants alone will reduce typical blowby in the 45% to 70% range. So your oil is up to 70% cleaner than it would be with typical oils. So doing the math, if you had a 5,000 mile oil change on a typical synthetic and switched to QuantumBlue....just based on the math alone you could be able to get 3,500 more miles (5,000 x .70=) on just the oil. This puts you at 8,500 miles on one change alone.

Now 45% to 65% of the blowby happens in the upper part of an engine is curbed by using ACES IV. So if you are already at the 8,500 mile range with no wear and you add ACES IV to the mix you could be at 14,025 miles (8,500 x .65=).

Well, we have seen what Jed's OCD has been doing for the last 153,680 miles. He is averaging 12,806 miles per oil change....with his last oil change being 14,011 miles!!

When you do oil analysis you verify how the engine is wearing. This isn't opinion but instead objective fact from a third party evaluation! They have no dog in the fight! They just report results based on spectral oil analysis.

This is how you know when and how long to run the oil. Put the combination in together like Jed has, Pete has and Jeff has......along with many thousands of others....and you will get these repeatable consistent results!

Pete's 2013 Durango:

Jeff's 18,230 mile 2012 Ram 1500 pulling a 6,000 lb trailer!

These are facts! When you look at Jed going 12 oil changes in 153,680 miles using our technologies....you see the consistent results.

No chromium, no lead, very little aluminum and no nickel!:beerchug:
