Does anyone know the required octane requirements for this engine? I know that the recommended fuel for the 5.7L is 89 but 87 will work fine with little or no difference in running or economy.
The 6.1L is a more performance built engine, but will the sensors allow it to run well on 87 or 89 octane? (my guess is it will require 91 or above).
THx,

91 or better. I imagine you will lose a goodly chunk of power using 89 or 87.

Its not suprising california doesn't sell 93. There are many states that don't. I live in southern MN and I have only seen 1 or 2 stations that have it, but they are farther north, closer to Brainerd, MN (it may ahve something to do with the dragstrip and sportbike tracks in the area).
Well they do call the twin cities" Moscow on the Mississippi", don't they?
