So recently changed my thermostat after getting a cold and the heat not working. When I changed and bled the coolant the heat worked again for one day. Next morning I came out it was cold again and the coolant temp was fluctuating erratically. It did end up getting warm but then got cold once again. What could it be? Water pump is good, thermostats good, coolant levels good. There doesn’t seem to be any visible leaks. What should I check our do now? Bleed it again? I can’t afford a mechanic prices right now but definitely need to commute, ive been doing the best I can with no heat but the weather is starting to get in the negatives now so I can’t stand it any longer.

Maybe a heater core issue or air pocket in the cooling system

Agree, you are either low on coolant or it has not been bled properly.

Sounds like you got air in the system

The system wasn't bled properly. Re-bleed it using the bleed port behind the thermostat housing on the pump.

Coolant problems

My charger r/t is giving coolant problems. I changed the thermostat still no resolution. My heat blows cold majority of the time but sometimes goes hot then back to cold. I have enough coolant. The radiator fan works. The coolant is just not circulating through. The car doesn’t really overheat...

Make sure you turn your heater all the way when you fill coolant and bleeding the system. It’s most likely air pockets in the system.
