Translated.

Go for the 3.5. Easily worth the extra $1200.

just my 2 cents but stay away from the 2.7 its a DOG. Also what year are you getting?? if its an 07 get the 3.5 as you get the 5 speed trans . The 2008 charger with the 3.5/2.7 and the 2007 charger with the 2.7 all get the 4 speed trans

The 3.5 is a great motor! I had it in my Intrepid R/T - you won't be sorry.

No kidding and no offense to those here that have the 2.7L... but the 2.7L charger is barely faster than a prius: 0-60 in 9 seconds for the charger vs. 10 seconds for the prius.

2.7 royally blows. Stay away from it. Go 3.5. Very peppy even in our porker cars.

I had a 2.7 for a short time before exchanging it for the 3.5. I barely notice a difference in the cost of gas. Basically the same for each one but the 3.5 is much more lively and has a few extras the 2.7 doesn't have.

Go for the 3.5, you'll regret the 2.7. I had rent a 2.7 Chrysler 300 and it was the slowest thing ever.

There is more to gas mileage then just the size of the engine. The Charger is a big heavy car. The 3.5 is better able to handle the weight then the 2.7. Essentially the car's weight nullifies probably any MPG gains the 2.7 may have otherwise provided.
I'd go with the 3.5. I don't think the two cars' options are much, if any, different.

I have never driven a 2.7 but I would think the $1200 premium for the 3.5 with 60 more hp and little if any mpg difference is quite justifiable.
