If I want a 225 tire to replace my 215 tire (SXT), do I drop from 65 to 60 to maintain diameter?

It looks like 235-60-17s are closest to OEM. Only a .36% difference in diameter and .3 mph difference at 60 mph. But will a 235 fit on an SXT 17" wheel?

The tire comparison program shows a 5.19% diameter difference between OEM and a 245/65-17. I suppose it will fit the wheel, but the diameter difference will cause your speedo to be off by more than 5% at 60 mph.

Most of the tires that will fit on the rims are going to be shorter than stock and thus change the speedo, there just are not a lot of tires made in the needed dimensions for these cars.

The best option for better performance is probably to get a shorter tire, and have the speedo calibration changed, not to hard
