I know this thread is worthless without pictures but I'm excited and I promise to follow up with shots of the install, hopefully they'll arive this week so I can do it Sunday.

I ordered my first set of zinc black slotted rotors, I know I'm a big advocate of the OEM rotors, but I wanted a fresher look and new pads both from BrakePerformance.com and I'm saving a pretty penny doing this myself vs having the dealership do it.

I've changed pads before but never my rotors so I'll be following Mnunes' tutorial on how to go about everything considering this my first time doing a full on change of everything at once. Figured I passed the 100K mile mark, time to treat THWIP to a little upgrade. :driving:

I did the same upgrade to my wife car, from the same company. Once you get everything else out of your way, the old rotors slide right off and the new ones slide on. One thing I should have done, flush the system.

Congrats on the upgrade man! I am sure you will love your new rotors!

I also switched to R1 premium slotted back in 2012. Stopping definitely improved a lot. But look wise, slotted is still not as attention-grabbing as drilled rotors.

And lmao for your choice of pic.

BTW, get some caliper covers to go with your new set. Or if you are handy paint then!

Thanks! But don't congratulate me yet! I don't even have them haha! Still waiting on delivery, should be here Monday which means play time next weekend :beerchug:

I basically just got the slotted for the more sportier look and I liked the the slotted/dippled ones too but I prefer a more simplistic style of the slotted. Flashy, but not too flashy
I definitely plan on painting my calipers, I'm leaning towards the classic red, also debated black or silver to stick to my neutral theme with maybe Dodge or Charger vinyl on them.

Do you have pictures of yours posted?

I have a set of slotted dimpled rotors and premium pads coming from brakeperfomance.com also. Should be here Tuesday. Looking forward to putting them on. Heard good things about this company.
Already painted my calipers yellow.

They're going to be here tomorrow, since it's going to snow Thursday I may not have work. In which case I might take the snow day and just work on my car :D

good call Steve. I knew over time you were gonna go aftermarket with your rotors, whether for performance or aesthetic purposes!

So I'm all set to change my brakes and of course 90% of the lug nuts are ****ing stripped. I can't get them off, I've tried using a smaller socket and hammering it on and it just pops off. I'm wondering if I should even attempt to remove the casing or take it in a shop real quick to get the nuts switched out...I'm absolutely baffled why Dodge would ever consider putting on these pieces of crap, not to mention I have two different sized nuts if I had a flat I'd be screwed! The only place that's replaced my lug nuts was the dealership, project is on hold until I can get the damn lug nuts off.
