Hi, everyone. I'm the first time owner of a Charger. My vehicle history includes a 1997 Dakota, 2013 Challenger, 2015 Challenger R/T, 2018 Renegade (don't laugh), and now a 2018 Charger SXT. I purchased it through Vroom earlier in the year and after getting over some health issues am now starting on a few mods.
  • 20x9 and 20x10 SRT replica rims in gloss black
  • Paint-matched spoiler
  • Front license plate delete
  • Repainted door pillars
  • Green and blue triple racing stripe (in progress)
I've been fighting my long-time enemy—Chrysler paint—on my door pillars the last couple of days. I started to wrap them but decided applying some paint is probably the better long-term choice even if it takes a little more prep work. I spent today sanding and painting and am waiting on the last coat to dry now. I added a photo of the type of peeling I was dealing with.

I've been browsing the different Charger communities and am looking forward to contributing in the future. Happy New Year!

Thanks! I was surprised how good the spray can job ended up.

Thanks! I had a flat black wrap applied to the roof and front pillars and added some hash stripes on the fenders. It was about as good as I could make one of those look. It was what I needed at the time, but honestly, it drives like a toy compared to a Challenger or Charger.

Ouch, paint peeling like that on a 2018?

Congrats on better health. Hoping 2023 will be a much better year than last.
Thanks, things are looking pretty good going forward!

Welcome to the forum from Louisiana as well.
Thanks!

Welcome! and Chrysler/Dodge auto paint is notorious for being crappily and the clearcoat is such a thin layer its very easy to get it messed up. when I got mines it was clear there was poor prep work leading to fish eyes and dirt in the paint got most of it handled and rubbed out but still sucks maybe others have different experiences
