Hello all,
For the last 4 years I have been trying out different Tire dressings including 1 coating. The Coating was Adam's Polishes Tire Armor which lasts at least 6 months. This product is for the lazy or who doesn't want to re apply tire dressing after each wash. I'll tell you what, it works amazing. It holds up week after week wash after wash and really retells dirt off your tires. I basically just wash the tires with a tire bucket with a microfiber towel and Car Shampoo. Simply an amazing product. You must make sure you start out with completely clean dirt free brown free tires or the Tire Armor will seal in what you don't take off.
But I got tired of that look and wanted to keep trying other things. I went down the Maguire's , Chemical Guys, Griots Garage, Jay Leno's and Adam's polishes offerings and narrowed it do 4 different ones that I liked a lot.
1 - Griots was their Oil Based Blue Black Shine. This stuff is thick , slightly difficult to apply and can sling if you put to much on. BUT the look is wet shiny and long lasting after you apply it correctly and let it dry completely before you drive.
2- Adam's Polishes VRT - This is almost my favorite out of the 4 except it doesn't last or hold up very well in wet rainy conditions. It's basically gone after 1 rain. It goes on thin runny and gives you a very nice Satin Finish.
3- Jay Leno's Tire and Trim dressing. It's basically exactly like Adam's. It smells the same, works the same and if I didn't know any better which I don't I'd say it's exactly the same product. Either way since it's the same, it works great and I would continue to buy it.
4 - Chemical Guys VRT. By far now my favorite dressing. Water based like Adams and Jay's but thicker to apply, holds up much longer like if it rains , the next day it's still there. You can if you really wanted to skip a week after a wash and not apply it. But I don't , I enjoy freshly dressed tires so I apply it each week I wash. It's a Slighty shinier Satin finish unless you really work it into the tire.
I talked about tire dressings in here before but to be clear, Chemical Guys VRT is absolutely my go to.
Adam's Polishes just released some Graphene Tire Dressing that is supposed to hold on longer , I may order a bottle and test drive it but I'm completely happy with VRT.
