My charger got broken into for the second time in 4 months.
I need a 12 gauge pump action shotgun and an alarm. My charger got broken into for the second time in 4 months. Since I changed out my door handle, removing the driver door lock, this time they punched the trunk lock.
They took my car tool box and a flashlight and not sure what else, as I have a lot of junks in my trunk.
I disconected the trunk lock tonight, but now I cannot open my car if my battery dies. A while back, I did purchase a 12' choke cable for the old cars with manual chokes, that I planned to hook up to the trunk release so I can access the trunk in case my keyless entry failed. I guess now I have to hook it up, before something happens and I have to do something drastic to gain entry.
Not sure if I am going to remove the trunk lock totally and plug the hole with a large lag bolt or something similar or look at putting in a better lock, something like a star lock. Going to check out some lock places this weekend to see what options I have.
I am also thinking about re-wiring the trunk button in the car to a wire that is hot only when the key is in the ignition, this way, incase if someone breaks in the front, they cannot just push the button to open the trunk. I know they can access the trunk through the back seat, but the harder you make it, the more chance you have of the person not wanting to do it or them getting caught.
If we had laws like in Texas, I would stakeout my own car and shoot the criminals as they try to break in. :armed: Too bad too many liberals in Hawaii, protecting the criminals at the expense of the law abiding citizens.

Man, that totally sux. I'm really sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately, the rate of recovery for car break-ins is almost non-existant. I hate those bastards just as much as you do because they generate a LOT of paper work for us.
I'm not sure about the idea of removing the trunk keyhole access. Next time they may just dig a huge hole where the key access use to be in order to gain access to the lock mechanism. If they want in... they'll get in.

sorry to hear the bad news, i think it is going to get a lot worse so maybe you need to set out and watch for these idiots. that makes me sick. i hope everything works out for you
ever think of looking behind you when you drive?
maybe some one is following you to see where you live , park , your schedual... think about it.. do you attract alot of attention when you drive.. loud exhaust... smoke tires out, fish tail around corners,,,, damn now that i mention it i fish around corners myself.. got to stop that myself...
