Has anyone ever used the MSD ignition coils?

If so, how did it help and what did it so for you?

Too much money for too little gain. Stock coils are plenty unless you're running some serious cylinder pressure, like boost or nitrous.

Not sure how much it will help, but it won't hurt...and the red looks cool (but you can get that with a rattle can paint job)

MSD systems are limited in application these days unless you are building massive power. Nitrous ignites easily and doesn't require more than the stock system provides. Big compression is something different.

Coil packs is something to do when you've done just about every other bolt on mod and you're just looking to get every ounce you can out of it. I find it interesting doing a lot of research on the coil packs the majority of the people that tell you they are not worth it are people that have never used them but if you search hard enough you will find multiple Publications that tested them and actually got marginal gains of 7 to 10 Peak horsepower and 12 lb of torque. While I definitely don't claim to be an expert and this is my first modern car I'm playing with in the past MSD ignition coil packs we're always a night and day difference in driveability gas mileage and yes butt dyno. There are also people that will say people run the stock coils with a thousand horsepower engines, what's to say if they ran better coils they could be 1,015 engines just a thought.

1. Upgrading to an MSD COIL (not coil pack) in "past" cars is very different than today. Back then the stock factory coil was deemed just enough to power the ignition system through the distributor. Today most are COP (coil on plug) and the OEM coil packs are more than sufficient (I don't see MSD or Accel packs on a Demon or Hellcat, hmmm).

So and so being the people who get paid a helluva lot more than you or I to come up with stuff lol? The factory LMAO? Also the fastest Hellcat cars in the country....don't use them. The return on investment isn't there (if you don't know what that means, means the near nil results aren't worth the expense).

They run great on 89 or 91 octane so why bother with 93 or race gas? I mean talk about ROI... Gas is totally consumable there's literally none there so you must use the cheapest available... And unless your car is a rare low pruduced model your whole car is a huge loss on the ROI side of things... So once again, do you plan to contribute anything to the discussion or just continue being the village idiot?

Did you ever think of the possibility that somebody like myself purchased a very nice low mileage 13 year old charger to work on and put quite a bit of money into so older posts may be relevant. You are definitely the type of person where if I started a new topic your reply would have been oh use the search button it's been talked about...maybe you should just not be a dick head or try a DM instead of trying to embarrass someone..
