Just got my 2014 Charger SXT Plus AWD Sport. - Love it! I'm a former WRX owner, as such I got used to the "Subi-love" as it's called. All the WRX's wave or acknowledge each other in some way when passing on the road. So when I got my new Charger, I just figured I'd spread around some Mopar love, figuring a community with such a rich heritage, must be bursting with pride and love for their cars... Sadly, no one has waved back yet.... :(
You must love your cars as much I love mine, so what's the deal!?!? Throw up some Mopar-love! :beerchug:

Probably not going to happen. I think that there are to many that bought their Chargers for basic transportation and aren't real enthusiasts. The only people I've seen acknowledge each other are classic car owners and Harley riders. Could be that the WXI drivers are a tight community.

It's a shame. I remember the first car I bought. A 1987 Ford Escort GT in 87. The Escort was the top selling car in North America but yet the majority of the GT owners waved. Of course that was in the North East too. I live in Florida, have owned 2 SRT-8s since 2007 and have yet to get a wave back. I can say that I have been tailgated and ricer flybyed by numerous Chargers. I have been pulled beside then blown passed by numerous Chargers. I just shake my head now days. I'm pretty sure it's where I live. The Mustang and Camaro owners don't do this. It's typically the Infiniti, BMW or fellow Charger owners who feel the need to blow past me or want to race me on a public road. I'm a car guy and appreciate fellow car enthusiasts, I just can't figure out why people act like jag offs when they see an SRT. I think it's just Tampa....

That's so stupid. - Chargers should be blowing off the imports, not other Chargers. And to disrespect an SRT is crap. A WRX owner would never disrespect an STI owner. We respect that he was able to get the best version, and look forward to the day when we would get one of our own.

Here, 6cyls are over plenty... They just want a car and maybe care about who has bigger rims and sound.
Rt's are becoming cheap so ppl are buying them for space and to say they have a v8, not really enthusiasts.
Ppl buying SRTs here dont know what they really have just some top of the line model with decent power. They wouldnt know what to do when their hemi shuts down becausethey used the valet key.

These cars are hard to wave with as well, the huge mirror gets in the way, if i was to wave the big ol mirror makes the wave hard to see, unless i wave my hand like loco. But then wtf right lol

I wanted to wave but then ppl are darkly tinted... Too many reasons why I try not to wave.
Waved at a fellow Torred RT, and he just looked at me like wtf... I prob know more than him about his car. Pffft.
If u wave at me, ill wave back.talk to me about my car, ill talk. Play with me on highway ill play.
If not then w.e.

I flash other Charger drivers with the high beams when I drive my Charger, and I flash Dart drivers when I drive my father's Dart. Occasionally I do get flashes back.

Sarrum, I don't know if having an SRT deserves respect but car guys respect car guys. Like your WRX. Most of the people that have them know about cars. They are fellow enthusiasts. There is a kid that works at the tire place I get my tires balanced and alignments at. He has an Acura RSX. I'm not much of an Acura person but him and I talk about cars all the time. He has his Acura modded and I enjoy hearing about it. I should say too that the Chargers that do the flybys or jump on it out of the light are normally 3.5's driven by kids. I had a white 2and generation 5.7 do a flyby last week on I-4 in traffic weaving in and out. It was driven by somebody who had the life guard missing in the gene pool. It seems every time I'm driving and pass somebody in a 3 series BMW or any infinity, they punch it and blow past me...I had a Lexus the other day jump on it out of every light wanting to race. I'm wondering how many SRT kills are being posted on their forums :)

Lots(half?) of Chargers start life as rentals and get sold for an affordable price to people who just wanted a large car with warranty.

On the other hand it does speaks to volume how many Chargers on the road, especially since Ford and GM have no equivalent at all.

Nobody waives out here either. Half the time you're asking to get shot by waiving because they'll mistake your waive for a middle finger. I also notice that most of the guys doing fly-by junk and crazy weaving are usually in some slow beater car (not to be disrespectful) most commonly an early 2000s Hyundai accent...I don't know why but it's always the accent hauling ass and driving like they're Mario Andretti.

A few months back an older guy in a new SRT challenger was at my gas station way outside town...ran into him a half hour later on the freeway. He saw me and rode up on my ass, changed lanes and hovered right next to me for a mile. Finally he looked over and floored it and passed me...I didn't budge. I'm 23 and that guy was easily 45, that situation should have been the other way around. The vast majority of these people aren't true enthusiasts, they buy for practicality or because "it looks cool." But who are we to judge? It's their money, as long as they're happy and stay the hell out of my way it's all peaches and cream.

I only wave if someone waves to me, or give a thumbs up if I get a thumbs up. Like some of you I've gotten the WTF look when I wave first. So I wait for acknowledgement before waving or responding to hand gesture regardless of which gesture it is.

Speaking of fly-bys, we had a camaro that wanted to play on a crowed highway Christmas night. When we refused to play, he got pissed, and left us. I'm pretty sure he got on the camaro forums and bragged how a Charger R/T refused to play.

I still waved at some Chargers after I got my Mustang, force of habit.

That was... awkward. :biggrinjester:
