It looks like it's just the plastic bumper that's broken but I'll see what the insurance appraiser says.

Looks like it's OEM part number REPD010365P

What's the difference between an OE replacement part and and OE CAPA Certified replacement part?

Just for example......can't direct link to the Rockauto search.

I think the OEM part is a Dodge part!

The OE Replacement would be a "generic" part, and could be made by any company.

It may fit but also may not match up 100%!

I would always go OEM!

SRT upgrade? ;)
That'd be cool but I don't wanna be a poser.

Scotty yeah I know the OEM is from the dealer Mopar stuff but I wonder if there is a difference between OEM and OE Replacement. We will see. Turns out I broke the bumper reinforcement anyway so this is going to insurance for full repair. I was hoping to get some Spyder headlights but not in the cards I guess.

So turns out the bumper reinforcement was slightly compromised as well, and because insurance was involved they had to replace it and it ended up being about $1800 in damage to my car. They ended up replacing the headlight as well, which pissed me off because I asked them to call me if that was the case. The new OEM headlamp cost them $280 and I could have got the Spyders for about that and had them install them for me while they had the bumper off but I guess I won't complain. It all got done in 2 days and I have my car back. They even got the Mopar chin spoiler and repainted the front end for me like I had it (the Redline look) only this time it's professionally done.

Plus they detail the car as well, so it's nice and clean again.

No harm done to any humans other than my ego. Mini had its rear bumper torn up pretty good but I don't honestly know what the final damage was just yet. All went to insurance.

Also.....screw that Mini.

Yeah, I'd be giving someone an ear full on that one. Someone backed into my Ram (that only had 1,600 miles one it) a few weeks ago, and among the minor damage was a scratch on the rim. I told the insurance company, and the shop, that I wanted money for the replacement rather than having them replace the rim. Nationwide gave me nearly $600 for the rim, which I used to buy some Mickey Thompson rims to replace the stock set, and the shop fixed everything else. I considered doing the same thing with the taillight but I happen to like the stock LED on the Sport, so I let them replace that with OEM.
Anyway, the point being. The insurance company doesn't care what specific part you replace stuff with. They'll give you the value of the OEM repair and if you choose to go aftermarket, you can. If the shop didn't listen to this and did the repair anyway, it's a pretty crappy shop that is more concerned with making a buck, rather than making a happy customer. That would be the last time I used that shop.

I legitimately don't think it was the shops fault. I had them take a note of my request but that was over the phone and I don't think it got sent to the shop. Based on the work they have done for me I would highly recommend the shop especially because they repainted my bumper as I had it before with PD only now it's a professional job.

Oh, that just sucks then. It's cool that they fixed everything, but it just sucks that you could have done the aftermarket stuff you wanted instead. Oh well, at least it's fixed, right. :)

I forgot to comment on this. You wouldn't be a poser just for putting the bumper on it. You're a poser if you start putting SRT badges and stuff on it. Nothing wrong with taking design ques from something else. A perfect example is the "Challenger Hood" (the kind with two vents like the Challenger can order). If you put that style on your Charger, doesn't mean you're pretending to have a Challenger, it just means it's a good looking hood. Same thing with the SRT bumper. Just don't go putting SRT badges on it, or telling people it's a SRT, then you're a poser.

To further that, I guess I don't really know where that "line" begins and ends. Obviously I like the SRT front end and given the opportunity to put it on at a relatively low cost I'd probably do it but I definitely wouldn't put the badges on. Maybe my "line" is just a little further than yours Shots, but that's part of our freedom of expression. We're both entitled to our opinions.
