Hey guys. I'm looking to get a little more aggressive tone. I'm running a borla cat back and mopar cai. I love the borla but it's just a little to conservative. I was thinking mid pipes cause it's cheap and easy to install. Any recommendations for brand? Or maybe someone would like to show me their setup? Thanks!

I assume that by "mid-pipes" you mean removing the center mufflers?

There is no brand, just visit the local muffler shop and have them removed and replaced with straight pipe. Cost is around $100.

Mid pipes are the pipes containing the cats.

The link you posted is for catless JBA midpipes. They will give you a huge sound increase and a nice power bump. The cats are the most restrictive part on these cars.

However, if emissions testing is strict in your state catless mids aren't a good option. Plus you'll need a custom tune because the car will throw a code. I run the JBA catless mids and I love them.

If you have emissions issues in your state look into high flow mid pipes.

I'm glad hawaii never does emissions! :D will the cel effect anything?

Forgive my ignorance haha but I thought hawaii was one of the more strict states in regard to emissions? I can't ever pick up sarcasm online other so sorry again if that's the case.

You don't want the cel...the car expends extra fuel and resources monitoring the active cel. Basically it makes the car run like sh!t until the code is cleared or fixed. Get a custom email tune to fix the code and you'll be happy. The catless mid pipes are my favorite mod to date. Like I said, a nice sound increase and noticeable power bump...especially on the high end.

Haha. Fortunately I wasn't being sarcastic. Some many people run straight pipes that it's not even funny.

Pardon my ignorance. But what's a email tune?

Nice, then definitely go catless!

Email tune...there are a few well respected tuners that can send you a tune for your car via email. You tell them what mods you have, data log some wot runs, and send it to them. They'll then give you a tune and you'll test it with more data logging. They'll refine it and get it all dialed in. It's very simple. You'll need a Diablo sport tuner and also have to download their free data viewer software for the data logging.

Basically everything requires a tune. You can run headers or catless pipes without a tune but you won't get the power benefits from them. In many cases you actually lose power until your car is properly tuned.

You can look into high flow catted mid pipes, you'll be able to get away without a tune longer with those than you would with the catless pipes.

The Diablo tuner is an essential foundation for all future mods. Speedlogix is having a great sale on them today.

I have not heard of the Cobb device but the Diablo product is very simple to use.

A tune is not required for either of those mods, it will just make the most of them. You can do them and then tune it later if you choose.

However, if you delete or modify the Cats and 02 sensors, you may need to do more to keep the engine codes away.

He will. The non-fouler mod does not work on the 2011+ cars, that's why I would definitely pick up a tuner before doing anything involving the cats.

I'm not sure if the DCX is for the 11+ cars, it should say in the product description what vehicles it's compatible with.
