Isn't he lx platform from an old mercedes E-Class?

The current LX platform shares some parts and design with the previous body style E-class Mercedez, but it is NOT the same platform

Think of it like a jaguar x type and a ford tarus. they are the same car, one just has a wood steering wheel =D. or a neon and an pt cruser.

The Jaguar X-Type was on same chassis as previous Ford Mondeo, a European model.

The current (2008+) Taurus shares some chassis components with Volvo S80.

Neon and PT Cruiser are on same chassis
