So I've noticed this winter, if I go to have some fun in an empty lot to go do a couple donuts, that if my RPM hits too high my car throttle completely cuts out and goes into what seems to be limp mod and I need to shut my car completely down and fire it back up to fix the problem, it throws a CEL. When I plug my intune in to check the code is says 1 trouble code but doesn't show me what it's for. Only says read or clear. Anyone know why it's doing this and/ or how to fix this issue? Worried about drag season losing too much traction at launch and stalling

You are hitting the rev limiter which is putting it in limp mode.

As you've already discovered just shut the car off and turn it back on.

And go easy when doing those burnouts.

No way to make it so that never happens? Like how you can shut off traction control and MDS completely there's nothing for that is there?

Not that I am aware and why would you want to?

It's there to stop you from wrecking your engine.

That's true, but that's what rev limit is there for to limit it, I'm talking about limp mod, you can adjust the rev limit so you don't hit too high of rpm, just the limp mod is a problem kind of but I guess if there's no other fix for it just need to baby it at higher rpm so it doesn't limp out
