Some of you may have seen the emblem I made for my speaker set up:

Well, here's the new one!

It's not quite finished, but I'm very happy with the results so far. The LEDs to light the plexiglass will arrive this week. The pictures above are with the use of a cathode.

The individual LEDs are hand wired, plexi was hand cut, sanded.. I love my new soldering gun. :geek:
Here's a couple bonus pictures of the construction.

Hood emblem may be next, if I can find a cheap spare.
More pics to come!

With Billet Technology making the new front emblems, you might be able to find a cheap spare sooner than you think.

Looks good and definately creative.

I just like tinkering with this kind of stuff and learning along the way..

If you can't tell, I was the kind of kid that took my toys apart to see how they worked. :D
That is just cool.
I've been looking into doing the same with some Radio Shack l.e.d.'s installed in the front.

They have some nice ones with a chrome bezel that would work well...
I wouldn't do eyes on an exterior emblem.. It won't hold up to the weather, but the illuminated background would.

The prewired RadioShack LEDs are too big, specially on the front emblem. The emblem you see is one of the large emblems off the trucks. It's about 3 inches wide and 3 inches tall. The LEDs I have in the eyes are 3mm, I think. The RadioShack LEDs are 5mm. Big difference.
that is sexay
Too cool! Can't wait to see it on your car!
Very cool.....lets see it on your car!
where are the pics?! SLACKER
too bad it takes so long to remove the factia to just remove the emblem :(

You don't need to remove the fascia - there are two black removable panels infront of the upper radiator support. Remove these, then reach back and in.
I gotta ask, where have you come up with the ram head? I don't think it is a stock stick on, is it?
I already did the front emblem about 5 months ago with no problems.(weather, car wash) Here is a quick pic of them on in the day. I tried about 6 different ways of making the 'eyes' and had to re-drill the holes a few times, so the edges are not as clean as l would like it to be. Going to re-do it sometime. Looks very cool at night. Pretty much did it the same way you did. Tapped into the driving lights. When I redo them I might do them in red, and hook them up to my alarm.

there used to be "illuminated" rams head emblems for the Rams and Daks a few years ago.

Looks pretty good to me! Nice work!

thanks, you too. nice soldering and shrinking. I think I am more proud of that than the lights themselves. Once everything was wired, I spun the wires in my drill and put wire loom around it, so when you pull off the radiator covers, it looks stock.
