OK, so I did Deekdaddy's hood now as well and this time took some pics in the process so I can do the writeup for those that are interested...
The 1st pic is showing the relay schematic I have been talking about. On deek's car I tied it to the low beams because he doesn't have remote start but if you hit unlock twice it turns on the low beams for a minute... Mine you hit remote start and the markers come on until you turn the car on with the key so that's what I used.... You could also tie this to interior lights, whatever....

The second pic just shows the under hood wiring.... If I ever get the hood ducts and pad, they will cover most of this...

the 4th shows where I crammed the little radio shack project box I stuck the relays in to keep them watertight...

The knight rider light was a pre made el cheapo off ebay and the relays are ELK 912 that I have easy access to but many will work.. the generic term is Dry contact relay...
These are good for about anything they will handle 12A at 28VDC or 120VAC so you can use them for almost anything...
