I just installed the K&N Series 63 AirCharger in my 07 Hemi. There is LARGE gap at the bottom of the heat shield where it is suppose to meet the inside of the wheel well. Everything else fits fine, but it seems to me this gap would pretty much defeat the whole purpose of a CAI? Anyone have experience with this problem?

do you mean in bewtween the bottom plate of the heat shield, that has the hole in it, and the wheel well that has the hole in it?

the afe stage 2 also has that.

and there is not gonna be enough hot air in your engine to effect that i assure you, except maybe when you first rev the engine

i think they help isolate where *most* of the air comes from but even then, your engine is what gets hot, not so much there air, heat transfer cannot happen as fast as your engine can suck up fresh air inside your engine bay.

I love to read these CAI threads....I also agree with the crappola heatshields.
