I ordered my R/T with road and track on June 20th. My dealer didn't place the order until July 5th due to allocation. I have been calling DC every other day and they keep telling me the same thing, that the order is good, but there is no scheduled build date. I was told my car would be in in the middle of August. DC told me today that because it isn't even scheduled yet, they don't see how I would get it anytime before September. I called my dealer to ***** and he told me some crap about the demand for R/T's is holding up production but I should still see it around the time he told me. He told me they will have more information on Friday. I would think DC knows better them him when I will see that car. I did hear about there being more of a demand for hemi's than expected, but is this really holding up production of R/T's??? And why didn't DC mention ANYTHING about an R/T delay any of the dozen times I've called??? Is my dealer blowing smoke up my a$$?? Thanks for any info!

My order was placed the 23rd of June, and I was running into the same thing. Best I can tell there is high demand for the R/T and it is causing a delay. I just lucked out and found out my dealer is getting a Daytona so I'm getting that one instead.

Did you order the Protection Group? That's been the cause of extended delays on Chargers for months (several people waiting here since May/June still without a firm build date).

If you call DCX customer service, they can tell you the status code (BG, BX, D, etc.) and that will probably give you/us a much better idea of where your order stands. Sometimes the customer service rep doesn't know what you're talking about when you ask for the order status code, but if you ask "Am I in BX status" they usually understand what you want and can find it.

My dealer told me that they're doing September's scheduling next week. If you're in "D" status now, they'll probably schedule it in and assign a build date at that time. Until they do Sept's schedule, though, there won't be a status change (unless something unusual or really bad happens).

If you don't make Sept's schedule, you need to wait until they do October's schedule. From what I've gathered, it seems they do the schedule for the whole month at the beginning of the previous month (first week of July does scheduling for August, first week of August does scheduling for Sept, etc.).

But why would I be told 8 weeks for delivery by evey dealer I went to including the one I actually bought it from? Now it's going to be 3 months??? I'd much rather they tell me 3 months and it comes in 8 weeks.

I was at my dealer this morning and they have a R/T with road and track package list for $32,499 looked good nice front bucket seats like the Daytona the Michelin tires look good to. And the exhaust tips look different. It is magnesium I know some of you have these on order and I do not understand why the dealer is getting them before you guys. Inquire about it at Cherry Point Dodge in North Carolina.
