Some how I missed placed the sticker that came in the window when I got my car.

I sales man said that its a R/T Road and Track Edition.

How in the world do I tell?

the most noticeable will be the black srt front seats and the load leveling rear suspension. your stock 18 rims will have black pockets on all the spokes.

You mean you don't "trust" the dealer? heheheh (or jejejeje for beto)

This is actually a really interesting question....I've often wondered too.

Another easy tell is the 160mph speedo.

wait.. do regular RTs have the 160mph speedo?

From your picture in the photo gallery, the seats look like the R&T Perf seats.

No, Regular R/T's have a 140 mph Speedometer.

If I had to name all the things that come to mind.
It does have a 160mph dash
Dual Climate Control
Adjustable Pedals
My seats look just like the ones in the Daytona as well as the SRT8
Built in blue tooth
Thats just some without going out side and looking.

Are you sure about this?

I'm not doubting you, and I hope you're right but, my Charger R/T (bought 3 weeks ago) has the 160 mph speedometer, and is definitely NOT speed limited at 126 mph. As a matter of fact, the "driver" had to let off at 135 mph, and it was still pulling, so I'm not sure if it's speed limited at 145 mph or not.

Despite what my salesman told me (he said mine had the "Road and Track Performance Package", which didn't mean anything to me at the time), the invoice and build sheet does not indicate that.

Based on what I've read here on this thread, I have a "regular" R/T, with the obvious exception of it's performance and 160 mph speedometer. Also, listed under "standard equiptment" on the invoice is "performance exhaust", if maybe that could be a clue.

So, anyone here want to help me figure out what I've got sitting in my garage?

I know if it says Convience Group II then it's definately not the R&T Perf Group. That's a little pointless since if people can see that they'd be able to see whether the Road/Track Performance Group is listed. :rolleyes:

The easiest tells are the front seats, and black accented rims. Everything else is also listed under Convience Group II or hidden from plain sight.
Allevon, banned user, said that he had a custom order where he got the R&T without the performance seats and his wheels don't have the black accents. Without a scanned copy of his windowsticker, I guess the only visual cue is to check the airbox, like RTJunkie mentioned.

Okay.......the invoice doesn't say anything about any kind of "convienience group" options. Plus, the dealer did tell me that that my Charger WAS ordered by a customer who's "financing didn't pan out". As a matter of fact, the only options listed is the sunroof and the satellite radio. Other than that, everything else is listed as "standard equiptment", and the air box DOES have the "ridges" on top. Also, no black inlays on the aluminum wheels, and I have leather seats.

Everything I've read here tells me that I've got an "R/T regular". What gives with the 160 mph speedometer and no apparent presence of a speed limiter?

Are there supposed to be any visible differences with the exhaust systems? Any particular brand of tires (I have Goodyears)?

I've got a regular R/T:
160mph speedo
Goodyear tires
Tan leather seats with no "preferred suede"

Sounds to me like that's what you have as well.

I think non-R&T R/Ts started coming with the 160 MPH speedo in early '06. But they should still have the ±127mph speed limiter. The R&T speed limiter is up around 145 MPH.

So yes, I'd say you have a "regular" R/T, based on the airbox and wheels.

The think the easiest way to tell if you have the Road & Track package is that their will be a R/T emblem on the right side of the trunk. I have an R/T without the Road & Track package and I have no emblem.

It must have fallen off then because it should have one.

You are correct. I contacted my dealer, the service guy said that all R/T's regardless of Road & Track package should have the R/T emblem on the trunk. They have ordered me one. Thanks for the info.

My SRT-8 was shipped without the SRT-8 logo in the grille. I wonder how many other cars were shipped without proper badging?

I have a non-R&T R/T with an August '05 build date, I have the 160 mph speedo and my car has been up to 135 mph on three separate occasions (before SC Tuner). The car was unable to surpass 135 mph w/o the tuner.

The build date for my Charger R/T was 11/20/05 and it does have the "R/T" emblem on the right side of the trunk lid so, I'll assume that I've got a "regular" R/T.........although I have a hard time believing that there's anything "regular" about these cars!

As far as the "missing" speed limiter, I think I'll keep that to myself when the time comes for it's first maintenance visit.......thanks for the help!

Most of the points have been covered.

* Black Pocketed Rims

* P235-55-R18 Michelin Tires

* Smooth airbox top

* Daytona/SRT-8 Styled seats with Suede inserts.

* You can also look for "Police Package" labels on the front suspension when you drop the lower covers to change the oil.

I don't believe that someone got the (AWT) R&T PG option without the performance seats and the black accented wheels.

Everything mentioned above is correct plus the R/T Performance Package also adds an extra 10hp making the car 350hp versus the regular R/T at 340hp. Obviously this is not a visibly noticeable option, but good to know.
