Well guys as ya'll know Katrina has wiped out over thousands of square miles, including several dealerships. Since I live in Lake Charles, La and sell dodges to make a living I had to ask and our rep says that they have no idea on ordered units as far as delevery. Some units may have to be put on hold to help supply the south's dealerships/people that have lost their veh. I understand why and I am o.k. with this just hope everyone else understands. I live only 2 1/2 hrs from New Orleans and have helped at our local civic center and guys we have thousands of people that have nothing. People asking for a pillow to use to sleep on chairs that they have lined up. It is a real awaking for me and I pray for the millions of people effected and just can.t believe what I see on t.v. It is very sad.

Here Here... I haven't heard of one country offering us any cash or support. I believe that people are comparing this to the Sunami in the Pacific. Yes there were less deaths because we had advanced warning, but an entire city has been wipped off the face of the earth. They are saying that New Orleans entire infrastructure is destoyed and will have to be rebuilt. No one lining up to help us, no one offering to send assistance... I say that next time something happens else where that we look the other way and pour that money back into the US and make ourselves a better place. Done with the rant now, but it frosts my cookies like Billybobs R/T stated that we are always the evil empire until someone needs something then we are selfish capitalists. We can't win no matter what so why bother. lets worry about ourselves and see who else steps up out there. Guess I wasn't done with the rant...

I completely agree with you. The US is the first country that other countries ***** at, or beg for help. But we are the last to get any support. What did we give to those people for the Tsunami??? over 250 million!!! This government should start worrying about its own backyard, before they start mowing someone elses freakin yard. You know what I always say F#[email protected] the French, we dont need'em.

I guess helping out other countries financially is the burden our government has to take since we try to police everything. I guess its the price of admission. Its what establishes us as the leading world power, our presence is pretty much in all countries to some extent.

Any disaster no matter which country is a rough thing to deal with, especially when its an act of nature, my dearest wishes go out to all those down there (have some friends down there i had to check up on). and i do hope our government can get everything together to help out those stats with all quickness.

What i dont get is the hostility some people feel at a time like this, i heard someone on the radio condemning the mayor of new orleans for not reacting fast enough and if it was his party in office (cant remember if he was Rep. or Dem but it doesnt matter in the greater scheme of things) stuff would of been handled easier. People like that make me sick, this isn't a political thing its a humanitarian thing. I can bet he's not one sending money down there to help.

I dont want to get of base here but I just thought that I would let you guys know some of the things happening here. Of course New Orleans is up to 20' under water in some spots. 80% IS under water and they have cought a small 3' SHARK in down town. They are supposevly some dolphins up in Mobile AL. swimming around. People here from New Orleans are here and have their $$ in Hibernia Natl Bank that is based out of New Orleans and Can NOT get any $$ from ATMS. Chase credit cards do NOT work and most cell phones are out and its just keep getting worse every day. They have told the refugees here that they need to enroll their children is school here and look for a job because it could be JANUARY before New Orleans may even see power and at least a YEAR before any homes built. Come on man imagine you left your house with only some cloths (SP) and thats it, then suddenly some one tells you that where ever it is that you decided to go to escape...well thats were you are going to be living for a while!! That is something I can't imagine. Whats worse is that Motel 8 is charging $250 A NIGHT!!! Some Motels have the nerve to tell some people that they have to leave by Saturday because people have made Reservations for this weekend a long time ago to go to the local Casino's!! "I sorry mr and mrs. Smith I know you have no home, job etc but you need to leave" Sorry to rant but Jesus man have some compasion! GOD help them and thank you all who my have donated some $$ to help!

There was a story on Yahoo news yesterday about Chavez of Venezuela offering discounted oil/gas as well as food to the US. It was on the Yahoo news board for about 5 minutes and then gone.....but still in archieve. I'm sure, simply because I have not heard otherwise, that our Gov't rejected the offer due to it's 'feelings' toward the South American Dictator. I say we should accept whatever assistance is offered to ease the burden on the victims and the stretched resources of relief organizations attempting to help down there.Too much Pride can get you in all kinds of binds IMO>

It was on our local radio station this morning, 10 electrical power bucket trucks with personnel and equipment had left from our community and were headed to new orleans area to help with electrical power restoration. All you affected by this tragedy, our prayers are with you, Dave

This is just amazingly sad whats on T.V. Were in the hell is the military help? I havent seen any on the T.V. and I have seen so many "live" shots from helicopters but no help. People are freakin starvin to death literaly and they are not even droping food? WTF is going on. Its 2005 and we cant even help the hospitals in New Orleans? Come on man send some troops! Let them save their OWN families instead of some foreign land. Its like New Orleans is a foreign country we dont like, Sniper Fire! at the hospital!

We have plenty of oil...............IT'S IN IRAQ WHERE OUR SOLDIERS FREED THOSE PEOPLE FROM THE WORTHLESS POS THAT RAN IT. WE SHOULD "TAKE" WHAT OUR COUNTRY HAS EARNED TO AT LEAST HELP REPAY THE LOSS OUR PEOPLE HAVE ENDURED. THE USA ALWAYS STEPS UP TO THE PLATE TO HELP. AFTER 911, I SAY DON'T ASK, TAKE WHAT WE NEED. THE HISTORY BOOKS ARE FULL OF OUR SUPPORT FOR OTHERS AND THEIR DELIBERATE AVOIDANCE OF US. Mike, Pissed and heartbroken.

Well said. We can't send help to our own people because all of our "help" is overseas "helping" others when they apper to not want the help....

Don't get me wrong guys, and this is my HUMBLE, yet unwaivering opinion. I support Bush, and his attemps to bring freedom to those who desire it. To this very day I still think about 911, and I will NEVER forget it. I'm sick of the lunatics in the Middle East, and if they can't or won't live in peace with the rest of the world, then make a [email protected]#cking parking lot of the whole region. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY !!! Mike......off of, but standing right next to my soap box.
