I have this one (I ordered the black wood grips last week, but they are not here yet). I looked into the Barton one too, but didn't like the way you have to push it down, I prefer the "trigger" on the Hurst (I also didn't care for the colors):

You have to leave the original knob hooked up to the car or you will get a code. They have you route the wiring around the left side and put the knob in an empty space ahead of the shifter--you have to wrap it in a hand towel or something similar, otherwise it rattles around and drives you nuts.

You will like it! I prefer the wood grips over the stock aluminum ones, very comfy...they come in brown rosewood or blackwood. You have to pull the trigger every time you want to downshift, but not to upshift.

I had the stock shift knob stuffed up in front like the instructions show, but it rattled around too much even when wrapped in a towel. The shift knob does come apart if you are patient (don't try to pry the leather pad off, it is screwed on from the inside). I took it apart and put the little circuit board in an "anti-static" plastic bag (from electronics store) and put it in the console BEHIND the shifter--no noise now, and no error light.

Looks and FEELS much better.. it is rotated slightly towards the passenger side instead of straight front-back, so it feels natural with the way your arm/hand align when shifting.

I don't feel like I'm trying to get the Star Ship Enterprise out of space dock>:)
