From what I've read, the tie-rods frequently fail on the Chargers. First, where the hell are my tie-rods? Pics would be great. I know this is elementary for a lot of you but I'm lost when it comes to suspension stuff.

Second, how do you check them? I want to keep an eye on them.

Finally, any chance they've been redesigned for 2008 +?

no play no clunking as said.
Jack up both wheels. make sure the steering wheel isnt locked (non lx cars). grab the tire at 3 and 9 oclock and shake back and forth gently. you'll be able to feel it. Watch through the wheel at the end and make sure it moves the exact amount the wheel does. You'll be shaking the tire back and forth quickly , not just trying to turn the wheels with your hand.
Most tie rods make clunking noises at low speeds and you'll feel a bit in the steering wheel while driving.

If your car is under warranty they will fix it and only align the wheel that the replaced the end on .
