How many miles should I expect to get out of the original Goodyear tires and brakes on my '07 R/T? I drive year round in the Northeast in moderate commuting traffic and I don't do burnouts, just spirited driving when I get the chance. Thanks for any help and have a great holiday weekend all. :beerchug:

Your OE tires don't have a warranty. Most OE tires are designed to give you a quiet, comfortable ride so that you'll buy this car. The R/T has plenty of power and your charger packs plenty of weight. With a 260 treadware it will take some gently driving to get much life out of these. Check the air pressure once a month, rotate them every 5K, have the balance checked every other rotation and have the alignment checked yearly. Driving habits will play a big part as well.
Same with brakes. The easier you are on them the longer they will last. Hopefully some experience will chime in for you. Others here should be able to give you a good idea of what kind of miles they got out of them.

lol

Myself and many people with the goodyear RSAs got between 9-11K miles out of them.........My RSAs were gone at 9500 miles and my brakes were gone at 12k miles.....thats normal driving

I bought my '06 R/T used a few months ago. Stock Goodyears just rolled 40K.

Brakes - sorry, but I have no idea.

Thanks for all replies! I do rotate the tires every 3k miles and check air pressure once a month but I have not had them balance checked and the alignment was only done at the factory. The clock on my '07 just turned 20k and the tires look great with even wear but my brakes are squealing ever so slightly when applied lightly and they seem to fade when stopping at higher speeds. I'll have the pads and wheel balance checked at the 21k LOF service and possibly have them do an alignment. Thanks again!!

Everybody's definition of normal is different, LOL. I had 25,000 miles and a ton of thread left, brakes were still in excellent condition :)

lol.....good point..........Normal for me meant a few chirps here and there, few burnouts, and sliding sideways around corners 2 handfull of times :rocker:

I had a co-worker a few years ago complaining about is POS car only getting 12k on a set of brakes... One day a couple of us had to make a fairly long road trip, so we let him drive. RF pass was racing carts at the time for fun. Driver scared the hell out of us with his constant HARD braking. Suddenly became clear, LOL.

i have 22,000 miles on my daytona and had the rotors cut and pads replaced at 17k because they were warped. now they are warped again. the wheel vibrates bad every time i brake. i want to get aftermarket pads and rotors. any suggestions that wont kill my pocket?

also i worked at a dodge dealer for 5 years and sold lots of chargers. the average life expectancy for srt pads and rotors was about 15k and low 20's for rt's

the dealer was in the city so most of my clients did a lot of city driving and were rough on the brakes im sure in the burbs you can expect them to last longer.

I've got 25k miles on the odometer and I'm still on OEM tires, the pads and rotors I changed out some time ago.

With any car, and the charger is especially bad, after even a medium intensity stop, let the car roll about 2' forward and put the car in neutral. Holding the hot pads against a hot rotor will warp the rotors every time.

I've got 42k on my stock brakes, and about 36k on the tires (had snow's on last winter).

how about going to the car wash when the brakes are especially hot? Could that kill them? Like many i am fanatical about washing my ride and very often when i go to the self wash the rotors are steaming when i hose down the wheels. Could that be contributing to my problem?

That is a very difficult question to answer... too many variables.

I got about 36K on the original Goodyears.
