Just wondering how the hood closes with struts. Obviously without struts, the dead weight of the hood just drops and it latches. How is it different with struts?

I pull the hood down with my finger through the hole in the underside of the hood.

Once I get mine most of the way closed, I just drop it, like before the hood struts.

It's like the struts on your trunk. Just give it a little downward force and it will do the rest.

I didn't. LOL.

Funny Story: Back in 1992 I bought a 1990 Convertible Corvette Roadster. So a few days after I bought it i opened the hood, and it had these weird hood struts with what looked like release latches on them. No matter what I did, I couldn't "release" the struts, so I went inside and phoned a guy at work that had a 1990 Corvette Coupe to ask him how to close the hood. I was so embarrassed when he said "You just grab it and pull down". I felt so foolish, but I didn't want to break anything...

You may all laugh now, at my expense.
