So I really like the sound of my exhaust, but I would like a more open sounding exhaust like the older muscle cars do or for a modern example the ZL1. Now I know I only have a V6 but I know there could be a possibility that I can find a similar sound.

It's very hard to get that kind of exhaust note from a V6 (if at all).

You need to upgrade to a V8 to get what you want...really.

Would there be a chance at all at finding some sort of combination of muffler, tips etc. to open it up a little more?

In the V6 section is a long thread with exhaust sound clips and videos. Lots of options in there, a lot of V6 owners are happy with the "BigFuzz" setup.

I went through 3 different setups on mine, and finished up with the full Magnaflow system. Trying different setups gets expensive.

It has everything to do with the exhaust pulses that a V6 creates vs. those of a V8. As DDaddy and Ron mentioned it's pretty much impossible to recreate. In addition to our exhaust threads here, there are also a clips few on youtube that you can listen to if you search for "Charger SE exhaust". You'll notice that the 3.5 created a much better exhaust note than our latest generation 3.6. Since you have the 3.5, you should be in luck.

I asked this question a few months ago, because I wanted a big exhaust sound, but then I learned you couldn't do it with a v6 without it maybe sounding like a tuna boat.

Thus.. I bought a v8, I like the big sound so I had to upgrade.

I can't really provide inpute on your question but I would like to know if my 2.7 would sound similar to this with the same exhaust set-up.....I just don't want it to sound like one of those fart cans cherry bomb sounding things.

Idk about what others would say, but I would do a single in dual out by using a blastin bobs kit. If you were to go the route I did and did dual mufflers and dual out it would sound to throaty and not deep.

Also you could go with a single in single out flowmaster muffler and use a blastin bobs kit for the tips

you just can't. I think your best bet is to get a cut out or some flows....but you still can't get the same sound.
