i've been farting around this forum for a little while now and figured i'd make my 1st post.

i took a charger r/t for a test drive today and, i gotta say, that thing is pretty sweet! i drive a GMC Syclone right now and its just getting to be a little more than i want to deal with right now and couple that with the incredible gas prices, i've decided to start looking for something new. i want a car that is fast and fun to drive that is somewhat practical and i wont cringe everytime another mile ticks off on the odometer. the syclone has all that except for that last part-it kills me to use such an incredible collectors vehicle as a daily driver.

as far as the charger goes, it doesnt quite have the kick in the pants i was hoping for but it moved decently enough. one thing it does have on the syclone is the suspension. if i bought one i could finally take some corners again! and i love that the most-drag strips are fun, but ive come to realize i love whipping cars around nasty s-curves and the like. the interior was pretty good. the seats were incredibly comfortable. granted, im used to sporty truck seats from 1991 but im a technician for Mercedes-Benz and the seats on a base R/T are some of the most comfortable seats i have ever sat in! being more than familiar with benz stuff, i did kinda smirk at a lot of the parts lifted from the benz parts bin, but thats fine with me, i know how the stuff works and i know its quality stuff to begin with. as far as gas mileage goes the charger gets 10+ more than what im getting now and im already used to buying premium so its quite the step-up. AND i can fit 3 more people in the car AND have a useable trunk (pick up truck beds suck when you're buying groceries).

im pretty sold on this car. now i just gotta sell my truck. which hurts like hell but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. anywho, just wanted to say hi, so...hi! :D

Remember... this is where it will save you more money.... the charger is recommended for 89 octane... and some are running 87 and seeing better fuel economy.... the engine compression ratio is 9.6:1.... so 87 is really all the engine needs... :D

Welcome to the forum! Based on your comments above, I think you should definitely check out an R/T with the Road/Track Performance Group. It has some handling and steering upgrades as well as sportier seats. :)
