HHP Stage 3 Heads & Cam heatsoaked Dyno #'s

You've been asking for these #'s and waiting patiently... On Monday, we were up at ACA to get Mike's (Deaf Charger's) pre-heads/cam dyno done. At the last minute, we decided to throw mine up on there to see where it was at. This was an unplanned pull, and so the car was pretty heatsoaked. With really no cool down period, we strapped the car down and did the 1st pull which netted us a total of 392.49HP and 379.25 FT LBS TQ. We let the car sit for about 5 minutes, then did the 2nd pull which was 398.08HP and 384.41 FT LBS TQ. Time was an issue as we were only there for Mike's car and that was all that was alotted to us. We squeezed and rushed this in there just to get a base. The weather was hot, with a temperature of almost 92 degrees, and a DA of 2215. Not the best conditions to say the least, and not to mention the car being heatsoaked. If this was a planned expedition, no doubt it would be in the 415+ range, another FIRST for a 5.7 all motor! Remember, NOTHING has been done to my bottom end. Its fully stock.

We will hit the dyno again later in the year with it being planned. I fully see in the fall, the car pulling in the somewhere in the 420's, with TQ hitting at around the 400 mark. By far the Stage 3 package is a complete winner by all measure's. It might be a little more coin, but in the end its well worth it!

As for the dyno, it was a DynoJet. #'s are in STD. The pulls were done in 3rd gear. Here is the graph for those interested... Enjoy!

Outstanding!!!!!!!!!

great numbers even with the heatsoak...:smoke:
I thnk you mentioned it in another post but how is this car to drive everyday - for example in heavy traffic? Is stage 2 as far as you would go if the car is an everyday driver and only at the track a few times a year?

Good question what would you recommed for this situation Stage 2 or 3?
tune

how did you tune HAL? if not what kind of numbers are you looking at with a good tune?
Well, my car is a every day driver. I haven't had any problems with it in that regard. With that said, I look at the packages like this:

Stage 2 - street/strip. Cam has really no visible shake, can hardly feel it. Probably a little better on the gas mileage for those who are concerned about that.

Stage 3 - Still streetable, very mean and aggressive on the strip. You can feel the cam a bit more, but not harsh like some others out there. From the engine, you can't really tell its in there. Go around to the back, and look out, cause something mean and evil is in there

Must be nice to be able to complain about having a 2215 DA and 92*. LOL

Today here in vegas on my way home it was at 111* with a DA rite around 6000.

Awesome numbers - but what do you mean by "another first for a 5.7 all motor!"? InferAl and JonzMgnm posted similar, if not higher numbers with 5.7 N/A motors, as have a few others. STD numbers are corrected for the DA.

No flame intended - but credit needs to be acknowledged to the other guys that dynoed similar numbers already....
With even 20% HP loss through the train, thats 500 plus HP at the crank. Man, that is impressive. 35% hp increase for 8K or so.

Al's HP is 392. Jonz car pulled a 382. They have my credit. Trust me. All I meant was so far, I am pretty sure this is the 1st 5.7 that is so close to the mystical 400HP mark all motor...

Hal is kept in check with a custom B&G tune...
MadC's numbers were the ones I was chasin till I heard about yours. I could be wrong, but it seems as though Mad has tried just about everything out there. I will def be going after his .02 before I dive into my engine.
std numbers will be higher than sae numbers. What are the sae numbers, thats where you compare two runs. Ask the dyno operator to make the air/fuel screen smaller and the hp/tq screen bigger, thats what we really want to see. great numbers by the way.
When I just corrected our dyno numbers to std, we gained 10rwhp with a 1900ft DA. Your numbers SAE corrected will actually be a little under InferAl. Im not arguing or bashing, but in all fairness, to consider it a new record, it needs to be corrected to SAE. Send me the files and I can correct them for you if you like.
Sorry guy's but I gotta pipe up here.....

2-months ago, I posted a thread "Killed me a Cobra...DEAD"........boy howdy, talk about being called all sorta things......

While all these results are impressive, I've been postin similar since last year, but now for some reason, everyone seems to beleive that all this HP/Torque is in fact not just "possible" but "reality......

I simply think its all pretty humorous.......my last dyno pull w/my set up was 368RWHP and 409 Torque shifting @ 5300 rpm on a day that the outside temp was 100F and humidity @ 60%.

I am glad to finally have someone respected enough for others to believe confirm what I've been saying for quite a while now.

Thank you supporting Vendors for confirming the reality of what these motors are capable of and for all the effort and resources you have expended in making alot of peoples dreams come true.

it is amazing. I need to get mine in for a fresh dyno..

HHP got 370/372 out of it, but that was right off the rack after Heads/cam/heades install, and before the B&G was learned..plus a really hot and humid day. I know (since I have the stage II, not the III) I don't have the numbers Torred or you have, but I think it has more than that based on how it runs (it will beat my sts-v and my srt8 from dig or roll- - I know..I have done it).

Custom tuning with the Diablo will bump you over the mystical 400 hp mark. :)

And change the smoothing to 5......
