Very good article. This was one point that I loved:
Peak figures are not the whole story. Good mid-range figures are also important. The new Hemi did extremely well here. At 250 thousandths lift, the stock head was nearer a $10,000 Winston (Nextel) Cup head than it was to even a good modified parallel-valve head.
Way to go DCX Engineers!

Even with its good design and construction, you can tell from the article that there was plenty of things that can be done to extract more HP out of this beast.

FYI/NOTE: if you look at the URL for the article, you can see that it is from 0403 (April 2003), which explains why they keep mentioning "new" engine alot. So I am sure in the past couple of years, DCX engineers have found a few extra "tweeks" they've incorporated into these engines. Just look at what they did to the Air intake and thottle body position.

Ya, the article was originaly about the 5.7 in a ram truck, but the design is the same. Sure would like to see a similar article that is current to the 300, mag or charger, has anyone seen one.
