I have a great opportunity to purchase a magnaflow catback system for my charger, HOWEVER, it is for an SRT8. The SRT tubing is 2 3/4 inches. The recommended tubing size is 2 1/2 inches for the R/T. The exhaust shop says they can make it fit no problem but, I am concerned about maintaining the correct backpressure and not losing the low end torque.

Does anyone have an opinion or some experience in this area, I would love to purchase it but, don't want to make a rash decision! Thanks for the help!

I have heard here that this is a bad idea. The SRT exhaust as you stated is larger than the R/T. You wont be able to maintain proper back pressure. You will lose power.

The Magnaflow for an SRT is 3" tubing all the way to the rear.......aside from the massive loss of torque you will feel the noise when in MDS will make you insane!
