Hi All, could really use some help before going to my dealer. So I have a 2006 SRT8 with Dual Zone climate control. Recently it seems like my recirculate button is not working properly. I have been smelling outside fumes sometimes but when I push the button for recirculation of the inside air, the light comes on but doesn't seem to do anything. It used to be when the button is pushed, the force of air is much stronger but now when I push, it sounds the same. I have heard there is a way to calibrate the dual zone system by pushing some buttons but I don't know for sure and that is why I am here :) I don't think my door is broken which I know sometimes happens.

Please anyone who knows about this calibration chime in :)

Thanks in advance

First, you can't calibrate the dual-zone with button pushing. That is for the single zone only. it has a complete different calibration system that only the Dealer can do.

Second, if you have the controls set at any configuration that includes the defroster vents, the recirc will not work. It will flash a few times and shut off. You can only be set to main vents and/or floor combos to apply recirc.

If the light is staying on but the system isn't in recirc, then you need to reset the system by turning everything completely off (fan to zero position). This will reset the home position.

Then put the fans on setting 2 and cycle S L O W L Y through every vent position setting. Then turn it completely off again.

After this, if you are still having the same issue, you need to see the dealer to see if you have a failed blend door and/or actuator (they will do the recalibration procedure to determine this).

Thanks for the tip, went through your instruction above but didn't seem to make a difference. How slow is slowly LOL :) I went through the different vents and all seemed to work. Again, when the recirc button is depressed, doesn't that make the air come out more forceful which is how you know it's working. At least it used to do that. Now the sound is the same whether the button is pushed or not??? What happens if I do nothing??? I hate going into the dealership and having them man-handle my Baby!!! LOL

If nothing changed, you likely have a failed actuator motor for the recirc door. If you don't do anything, it will be fine it's just that you will always be drawing outside air and won't be able to get recirculation.

It's a fairly simple job to replace it yourself...
