Hello everyone,
I have not made any passes but I also have done nothing to the car up until now.
So My first mod past stock is the lower Hellcat Air box with the inlet tube. I did this mod a few weeks ago and finally today I can get to the track and try it out.

My car is a 2020 Scat pack narrow body totally stock except now with the Lower Hellcat Air box, filter and Inlet tube.
I run a 20x9.5 Hellcat Warp Speed wheel with a set of Nexen Drag Radials in a 275/40ZR20 size rear tire at 18 PSI.

These are the only mods done to the car and before the Lower Hellcat Air box, I was able to run a best et of 11.9 and best MPH at 114.9. So today's goal is to see a 11.8 and at least retain the 114 mph but I'd like to break into 115 mph.

Before the Lower Hellcat air box, I had a JLT CAI system and I never got out of the 12's with that setup. My best pass with excellent DA excellent temps and conditions was a 12.0 . My best pass was with the stock air box and just a drop in Hellcat filter, with the stock 20x9 Sack Pack wheels with the same Brand Nexen tires. I moved to the 9.5 width Hellcat wheels to plant that 1/2 inch back on the ground and the 9.5 width wheel is more suited properly for the 275 width tires. I have 2 sets of Drag Radials.

Running 20 inch wheels is not ideal for this car, the 1320 Challengers run them on Drag Spec wheels which is what I have for the street all the way around and I have seen 1320's go into the low 11 second range which is my goal on these 20 inch Drag Radials. Once they wear out however, I will not be running a 20 inch wheel anymore. I plan on moving to a 18 inch wheel and changing to a new Drag Radial , the Mickey's or if I see people using the Atturo's new Drag Radial with success, I might try them out.

Gates open at 5pm and the weather is around 75 degrees. I'll check the D/A and the Humity at that point as those 2 factors could slow me down. The humidity around here can be nasty and thick and usually when I run in high humidity I Lost MPH

By the way the wife thinks there is something wrong with having so many different wheels and tires for the car LOL. I have the factory 20 x 9 stock Scak Pack wheels with 4k miles on them with the stock Good Years 245/45ZR20 , then I have the Drag Spec / 2020 Dynamics package 20 x 9.5 factory wheels fitted with DWS06 Plus tires in 275/40ZR20
Then I have a set of Factory reproductions 20x 9.5 Gloss Black Hellcat wheels for one set of my Drag Radials. Plus I have the other set of Drag Radials so I actually could run a full front and rear Drag Spec tires but I don't see any reason to do that like the 1320 unless there is a huge difference in roll resistant over the Good Years or DWS06 Plus tires. I swap back and forth to see what front wheels are better for roll resistance. Not sure if the DWS06 or Goodyears have less resistance. I keep going back to the DWS tires but they are slightly wider. I run 36 PSI at the track from the stock 32PSI to try and help some.

Well you could always have a girl friend that takes all your money instead of your wheel and tire addition. 🤣

My wife already takes all my money, I have to sneak some away from here and then ask for forgiveness.
ANYWAY...
I achieved my goals and then some. I wanted a 11.8, CHECK!!. I wanted 115-116 MPH CHECK and CHECK, actually I smashed that. I hit 118 tonight and averaged 117 mph.

My Best ET was a 11.7 and my best MPH was a 118. The 11.7 run was a 117 mph run which is fantastic for just adding a Hellcat lower air box and Inlet tube.

I'm going on record to say this However talked about the factory air box being optimized for the 392, I beg to differ. I have many passes with the factory air box setup and consistent 12 second flat runs you can managed. BUT with the Hellcat Lower air box, I stayed in the 11's and my MPH has increased from 114 best to a 118 best. That's a pretty big difference . The D/A , Humity and air temperature was all similar to each time I go. I always try to go when the weather in in the mid 70's so the track is warm from the sun and the air is comfortable and dense yet not to cool the track would be cooler and traction would become an issue.

Also my 60 ft runs all tonight where in the 1.7 range yet my best run I managed a 1.69 60 ft time which on the wheel and tire combo I was using wasn't easy. You really have to manage manually the Launch and throttle output.

I'll share my launch if anyone wants to try it. I use the Line lock to warm up the tires. I don't burn the hell out of them but I do a few second clean and burning launch in the Wet Box. From the Starting line, I left foot brake and bring the RPM's up into the low 2000's. I do't exactly know what RPM I launch at as I do it more by feel then by numbers. When the Tree drops to green, I released the brake and quickly roll the throttle to the floor, I don't mash it. Mashing it results into wheel hop or spin or both. So to get my 1.69 60 ft , I go this launch down to almost a science. I was teaching it to another member in here Rocksteady but he sold his car in favor of a Pick up truck.

So tonight was a blast, I really enjoyed myself. I love that the very first run I ran was an 11.8 and I already accomplished one of my goals first pass.

Here is my best time slip pass.

I wanted to mention a few factors in my success. First and foremost to level the playing field, I looked over the D/A Humidity , wind and temperature factors of my last trip to the dragstrip to this time. This factors are non factors in the end results. All measurements are almost exactly the same conditions . So for my observations, I'm removing these factors as you can't get any closer then freezing time and working in that bubble.

So with that out of the way what was actually different this time around?
The Hellcat lower air box and inlet tube.
I think since I put this on the car, the car feels stronger especially at higher speeds. I think this helped obtain the highest MPH I ever got at the dragstrip and I have now put a good amount of runs on this car. Before the Hellcat mod, my highest MPH in the 1/4 mile was 114.9. That is also with the Hellcat drop in filter but stock air box setup. Now with the Lower Hellcat air box and inlet tube plus the Hellcat Filter, my highest MPH is now 118.72. That is a considerable higher number compared to the 114.9 in basically the same exact weather conditions same track same driver same car even same time frame. The only thing that sucks about this mod well 2 things 1 installing it and 2 when your done, you don't get any visual results, it looks exactly the same. The JLT intake I had was much easier to install and Looks 1000 times better. But I didn't get any performance gains from it so I removed it and sold it.

So what else was different? Well I'm using a 9.5 inch wheel instead of a 9 inch wheel. Most of my runs have all been on the stock Scat Pack 9 inch wheel with the Nexus mounted to them. The Hellcat warp speed wheel even with just being 1/2 wider, puts that pressure to the ground. When I had my 9 inch wheels with the Nexens on them, they had a slightly less footprint , with the 9.5 inch wheel I have a slightly more rubber footprint. So this is a small factor but I think it's a factor so I bring it up here.

Lastly fuel, I know most of you think that 91 octane is ideal for the Scat pack . I'm not disrespecting that opinion but I'm going to disagree. My car , my 2020 Scat Pack feels and runs better on 93 octane over 91. It's enough for me to notice and also the drag strip notices it. My last trip out I used 91 instead of 93, I got slower than average MPH and ET's. Not huge but consistent slower results. Since that time , I have basically only used 93 octane , not only that , I have been consistent with going ONLY to Sunoco. My ET's and MPH is enough proof to me that it's working for me so why change it?

I hope this experience inspires you guys to get off the streets and come to the drag strip where the real fun is. Rocsteady use to come to the track with me and we always had a blast. I texted him after each 11.8 pass I made to spark that desire in him, he's a great guy and super fun to hang out with. I'd like to see more of you at the dragstrip.

It stays in the garage most of the time and I keep it very clean
Great write-up and better results you got there. I was waiting for each successive text to show up that night as I was out with my gf. She was wondering what I was so intent about:

I'm glad we stayed in contact as I know one of these days, you'll get another car. It was a great time, it would have been better if you where there my friend. We use to have such a good time at the track, well with you losing every single pass we compared time slips to LOL. I always got you by .1 and maybe 1 or 2 MPH . But I also knew once you got the technic down, since your lighter than me, you would start beating my times and beyond. I really thought you where going to break into the 11's before I did. Our cars where basically Identical , we even ran the same exact Drag Radials.
I want to say to the group, it's a special time spending time at the Drag Strip . It would be great to see more of you there. Hell I'd be willing to go to the other sorta local track in this area , that would be fun to try out a new Dragstrip.
