What a RIP-OFF!!!

Looking at the wife's car, I REALLY don't think you have to jack the engine. I didn't have to jack the engine to install headers on the vette, and that is truely TIGHT!! I think they are all feeding you a bunch of BS. Unfortunately, most of these places charge over $100/hour for custom work (installing headers that you bring in is custom work). I say do it yourself if the headers are sold as a true bolt-on (i.e. connect to X-pipe without modification). Man, bring the damn cars here some weekend, and I'll do it for you for half the price. I have all the tools needed.

Just let me know. I'm not out to make money. And I'm all for the owner getting dirty with me doing the job. I'm really just looking for something to do since the vette is pretty much done (hence having it for sale). I just get tired of these shops ripping people off on relatively simple jobs (i.e. Dodge wanted $1200 to do a simple brake job on our old mini-van that cost me about $200 inn parts and 2 hours of time). Besides, I feel that my tools are going to waste. :) Now I just have to convince the wife to let me turbo or supercharge her SuperBee... :rocker:

I think i just might have to hire you there Taz. They're shorty's and just can't see paying double on the install than what I paid for them. While we're on the subject, how bout some rotors and pads install? I'll bring the beer! :beerchug:
No problem. Shorty's should be relatively easy. Brake pads/rotors aren't too difficult either (probably another 1.5-2 hours at most). My guess would be 4-5 hours for everything, maybe faster (not sure of any surprises on the headers).
