Hey folks,
I have a 2007 SRT8. The last two times I filled up, the gauge stopped at 7/8 tank. I have searched for fixes here, and have found that most people have a problem with the sensor not reading the lower levels of fuel. I'm assuming that this is a similar malfunction with the fuel level sensor. I saw that the sensor unit is built in to the fuel pump. Is this something I can replace myself, or would I have to take it to a mechanic? Can it be taken out without removing the whole tank?
Any advice would be appreciated.

The sensors and pumps can be removed from tank by accessing them under the rear seat. I'm not sure I'd recommend this as a DIY job if you have never messed with a fuel tank.

Have you done this?

Cluster Range Diagnostic. (Works on all LX models)

1) Be sure key is set to the 'OFF' position.
2) Press and hold the 'Trip Meter Reset' button.
3) Turn the key to 'ON' position.

The gauges will step through the whole range. If your gauge is acting funny, this is an easy way to see if it's the sender or the gauge.

I suggest doing this when the tank is full and again when near empty.
