Anyone know how to flush the coolant? Will the plastic T piece work you see at autozone? It goes on your heater hose and connects to a garden hose.

We do not have a radiator cap, only a res cap.

How do you flush the system and add new coolant?

the best way is have it done on a machine at the dealer. if you are trying to save money. ..drain the system using the drain on bottom of radiator. Afte all that is out. Fill system with water and run car until normal temp. Immediately turn off the vehicle and drain all the water out. Let it sit for hours to get as much water out as possible. Water contains fluoride and isnt great for radiators.
Fill system back up with the pink H.o.a.t coolant and distilled water. Distilled water will help add life to water pump and radiator. Add no additives to this type of coolant. After you drive a couple times go back and check coolant level as it will "burp" out air bubbles and drop in level a little over the first week

when your runing the motor with the water in it dont forget to run the heater so the heater core gets flushed also-and when you refill it with new coolant run the heater to burp the air out

How do you flush the system and add new coolant?

Open the petc0ck on the radiator and drain it. Refill the system with DISTILLED water. It's available at any pharmacy for a dollar or two per gallon. Start it up and turn the heat on full blast. Let it run for about 10 minutes until it's up to operating temperature. Shut it down. Let it cool for a while. Repeat. Do that 3 or 4 times. That will flush the system almost 100%. Drain the radiator one last time. Refill with Zerex G-05 coolant (not the kind that's already mixed with water, but the pure coolant). You should now have approximately a 50/50 mix of G-05 and distilled water.

Total cost will be less than $10 of distilled water, a gallon of antifreeze, and a little of your time. Don't forget to properly dispose of the used antifreeze/water.

I'm curious but why are you flushing your coolant now? The factory coolant is good for 5 yrs / 150,000 miles. If you're going to flush and refill, now would be a good time to put in a 180 degree T-stat. Note that the system capacity is 14.6 qts per the service manual. That means you need 7.3 qts of pure G-05 coolant to get the 50/50 mix ratio. Depending on how well you were able to drain the system, you may be able to put more than 7.3 qts of fluid back in. As RitzRT mentioned, start the refill with the coolant but stop when you put in 7.3 qts and fill it the rest of the way with the distilled water.

I need to flush the coolant because I added "wetter". After seeing a few posts here, on how good the product was.
Problem is it doesn't mix with G-05.
It makes your antifreeze a deep red color and causes gunk.
The gunk is floating.

Floating gunk is bad anywhere it shows up. Always flush floating gunk.
