I bought an extended warranty from my dealer. I demanded a Chrysler Ext warranty... they gave me no paperwork on it... finally come to find out that they have given me one from First Extended Service Corporation...

has anyone had any experience or problems with these guys? I'm pissed off that they did this to me. When I first questioned them, they said this IS the Chrysler Extended Warranty! What BS!

I think they are all 'farmed' out to insurance companies. That way, you can get your car worked on at the repair shop of your choice (sometimes your only choice!) where ever you are. They (the repair shop) have to get approval for the work to be done, but afterwards, they are reimbursed by the insurance company's credit card.

Insist on Mopar parts when possible. The warranty will pay at that price level, but the repair shop may cheat; happened to me one time.

I Have Been Buying Chrysler Exstended Warrentys Since Day 1.i Have Used Them And Had No Problem At All. Then On Some Cars I Had No Promblems To Use Them .its A Gamble.if I Was You I Would Tell That Dealer That You Want Chryslers Exstened Warrenty Or Your Going To Contact Chrysler About It .as I Can See They Told You 1 Thing Sold You Another.

Adding another questions about the topic...Is there anywhere to find what the extended Chrysler warranties cost the dealer? When negotiating the car, I know what dealer invoice is. As with the car, I don't mind them making a profit on the warranty, but I don't want to give them a 300% mark up either...

Unless your paying more than $1500 for a MAX CARE 7/75 you are only giving the dealer about a $4-500 profit TOPS! By the way MAX CARE is a wrap around x-warr. from chrysler. And on First extended we used to use them (at our dealership) but too many customers came in from out of town to purchase a veh just to get home and their local dealership would NOT honer their warr. So now its Chrysler ONLY. By the way Chrysler x-warr. MUST be honered by ANY dealership. Its as good as factory! Any more questions just holla!

I find this hard to believe.... so you are Saying that DCX charges more for ext. warrenties then Chevy?

A $1800 warrenty from Chevy costs the dealership $660 (I have a friend who is a finance manager at a Chevy Dealer in California).

I will stick with the "Dealers Ripoff" logo on EXT warrenties

For a 7/75 MAX CARE yes. That is a bumber to bumber warr for 7 yrs 75k miles. They were not that expensive until 2 mos. ago when DCX dropped 7/70 for 06. Also the dealer can control MSRP its fexable so $1800 could be dealer MSRP. We used to mark up from DCX MSRP to make more $ but then DCX started to send out warr. fliers with less than MSRP for customer cost. Also DCX has more than 50 diff types of warr to choose froma dnthey ALL very in cost pending veh. being purchased. x-warr on a nean about hasl of same one for a 300c. But if you would like to know I can tell you true dealer cost on warr. before you ny one. It makes me no difference. I love helping people with this kinda thing so just let me know if I can help further.

the first dealer I signed a deal with could not get me the car I wanted, so I wound up going elsewhere.... they had quoted me $900 for 7/70 bumper to bumper with a $100 deductible... if I can get the same price for a $50 deductible, that would be sweet!

Let me know when you can as I am anxious to go back to my current dealer and get them to switch this out... they told me they were giving me a CHRYSLER warranty, and that is what I want...

thanks so much for the info!

I can't recommend strongly enough that you TAKE IT BACK AND GET THE CHRYSLER EXTENDED WARRANTY!!! I had a 1999 Intrepid 2.7L that was sludge free. The service manager said it was the cleanest 2.7L he's EVER seen. At 98,000, it lost a rod bearing. First Extended said it was lack of lubrication. I had to dig up all my oil change receipts. After a MONTH, their adjuster finally got around to looking at the torn down engine. It was a part failure. They sent the dealer an allegedly remanufactured engine to install. I'm guessing it was from a junker. It burned oil like crazy and bent a push rod 15,000 miles later. I was incensed but know from experience that it would take ALL MY TIME for A YEAR to get it squared away. I bought a new Charger.

As I said: do NOT let them stick you with a First Extended Warranty!!!

I should have posted on this a while back...

ABout a week after buying the car I got a letter fro mthe dealer saying that if there were any reason why I could not score them 100% perfect on the survery, to give them a call and try to rectify it... well, I did just that... I called and was put through to the Controller of the dealership... I explaiend my situation and he said he would take care of everything. He told me he would do all of the paperwork and mail it to me so I did not have to come in... I of course was very leary... A few days later, I received the Chrysler warranty paperwork in the mail as promised. I signed it, kept a copy and mailed the rest back to the dealer...

I am impressed that they took care of it and I am sitting pretty with a DCX extended warranty which is what I requested to begin with!!!
