Exhaust Modification

I have a 2016 Dodge Charger SE, 3.6 V6. I have an uncle that is willing to help me remove my resignators and weld a new pipe in that I have. However, I have seen some forums that say that just removing the resignators and keeping the stock mufflers makes it sound ricey. Was looking for suggestions on what performance muffler to purchase on the cheaper end or to just buy another pipe and bend it to match.

Thank you in advance

I would not cheap out on an exhaust if you want it to sound good. Any higher end exhaust will sound good, its just about tone and how it sounds that you get to decide. Personally I like FlowMaster or Borla, stainless steel is always the best option so it will not rust. Also you do not need headers for it to sound good, though it might sound a little better and louder with headers if you wanted to install them.
I would not touch the exhaust, 3.6L V6 sound like hot garbage. If you want to do it go ahead I wont stop you, first look for video before you make any decision.

Resonators lol....unless you are actually resigning 😆
Anything you do to that exhaust is gonna make it sound ricey. That is inescapable.

Modding the stock single-into-dual splitter exhaust is a waste of time and money.

Cost no object, Borla makes a system that will make the Pentastar sound about as good as possible.

Personally, I would check Craigslist for a complete take-off true dual exhaust from an R/T. For a couple hundred bucks, you get a modest improvement in sound and slightly better breathing. That's the system Dodge puts on the GT, and according to them, it's worth 8 HP.

@CtCarl , what’s with your registration flag?

There is nothing cheap that you’re going to do to achieve what you’re looking for.
Search around on YouTube, there are a few videos of “decent” sounding exhaust upgrades, but none of them sound good enough to justify the expense, IMO.

If you can find an R/T exhaust you will have duals and OE tuned sound. Soloperformance has reported to make one with an exceptional tone posted by Krautmaster.
But without these efforts any back yard mods sound like ass.

Big Boz Exhaust the only exhaust that’ll sound good on a V6. Leave the resonators on

If you’re gonna stick with a V6 go with Big Boz Exhaust and leave the resonators on. You’re welcome
