I had my car run on a dyno a few months after I got it. Figuring in the conversions for air temp /air pressure/density altitude, etc. it made 245 rear wheel horsepower/220 ft lbs of torque.
The Dyno operator said he typically sees driveline losses of 20%, mostly due to our high altitude (6500 feet) At normal elevations this number is more like 17-18%. So using the 20% loss that brings the flywheel ratings up to 291.6 HP/264 torque--just what the factory rating is.
I installed a Mopar CAI, re ran it on the exact same dyno and got 252 rwhp /230 torq (corrected flywheel readings would be 302 hp/274 torq)
I then installed the DynoMax dual exhaust system for the 2006-2010 Charger R/T V-8 and this time the readings were 260 rwhp / 239 torq (corrected 311 hp / 285 torq), which is pretty much identical to a Challenger Blacktop edition that comes from the factory with CAI and dual exhausts.
I have since installed the Diablo 91 octane tune, but have not had time to get a new dyno run. I do not believe the numbers will change much, but the way the car drives is far superior to not having a tune.
These are about the only reasonable mods you can make on the 3.6 Pentstar, but they are well worth it.
