Hi guys,

I've got an 06 3.5L with about 100k and I'd love to do an engine swap. First car when purchased new, so it's got some sentimental value, plus Magnesium color is unique enough I feel the car is worth hanging on to. Totally paid off, so makes sense to upgrade for me versus buying a new car entirely, especially since I know the rest of the car has been well maintained for its lifetime.

Anyway, this summer I'd love to swap a 5.7 motor along with everything else necessary to get the car running, plus brakes, sway bars, and coilovers to balance the new power. Anyone know of a shop on the east coast (as far south as the Carolinas) that might consider doing it? Based on estimates elsewhere the project should be well within my budget, the question is whether or not there's a place near enough to me willing to try.

Any help greatly appreciated!

After the surge of initial posts about why you should be swapping the car for an R/T or SRT you'll get some help on where to go. It is a lot of work and if you are not doing any of it yourself, you better hang onto it for a while dude.

I dropped a lower mileage (30k) 3.5 back into my 06 when the 3.5 in it was at 164k. Still ran strong, but the deal on the other motor made it impossible to pass up. And I sold the old one to recoup a good portion of my costs. I did all the labor at home though.

Here's some good reading on one..

Good luck and have fun with it..
