I posted on here awhile back that I purchased a 2007 awd charger 5.7 hemi with a blown engine (dropped a valve) I put a 2010 5.7 engine in it but had to many problems trying to get it to run with the variable timing and PCM not being compatible among other problem ... So I finally bought a good 07 5.7 engine installed it but now it will not run ..turns over but won't run...I checked fuses relays and did the turn key thing for any codes that would come up on the dash ..nothing..also I pulled the 11 14 & 16 fuses to reset PCM ..I'm lost and I'm really not trying to take this car to the dealership and pay out the rear for them to get it running.. Is there something I'm missing someone please help with this damn headache ?

Well, first is to start with the basics. Is it getting fuel? Are you getting normal dash lights before trying to start? Are all of the electrical connections secure? The PCM won't enter start mode and allow the engine to fire unless all of the sensors respond in the specified time period.

Ddaddy is right first we need to verify the basics, fuel delivery and spark. If you have these lets make sure all sensors are connected and then check all the fuses.

Keep us updated and we will trouble shoot this with you! :beerchug:

Went over all the connections pretty positive its getting fuel pumps coming on and I even tried either as a last resort not sure if when I put the 2010 engine in and the variable timing made the PCM think the timing was off that maybe it did something to the computer also I'm pretty sure all the dash light come on that are supposed to hoping the PCM doesn't need reprogrammed ...last the engine light starts flashing after a couple seconds so something is wrong but no codes are showing up ...I really appreciate the help and advice guys ?

This is a pretty cool project you got going don't get frustrated and try to remain level. Is the battery charged enough to start the car? Do you have fuel and spark? For resetting the PCM you can disconnect the battery cables and touch them together to discharge all the capacitors. Also you might have to scan it with a scanner that can read BCM codes.

I'm not sure, maybe DDaddy can jump in here but dosnt the new motor need to be married to the car with star scan?

I was wondering if something like that was necessary as well ....also I never mentioned or considered this but while I was changing the engine I bought new wheels and tires that are 22" instead of the stock 18" might be a silly question but would that affect it from starting

Thanks for the positive encouragement lol not sure if you can see my latest post but it might be a silly question if I took the stock 18" wheels of and put 22" wheels on it while I was changing the engine would that affect the bcm and/or cause it not to start?

The engine does not need to be married to the pcm. When you pulled the engine did you pull the fuel pump fuse to relieve the fuel pressure? You might want to check that fuse and make sure it is seated. Maybe try removing a coil pack and check for spark

I'll check for spark and yeah I put the fuse back in it was removed already when I bought the car because they were going to pull the engine before they decided to sell it the pump is running I'll check for spark though do you know if changing the wheels has any affect on it starting
