They said, "Since it vibrated so badly, the bushing inside the driveshaft fell inside, so you need a new one.. $700"

WTF. Just spent $500 replacing the coupling.

What does this mean?

That's a huge help! Thank you very much.

Dodge says, "It NEVER happens! It's because you ABUSE THE CAR" if it happens on the E class.. then OF COURSE it'll happen on 400+ HP.

bad news about the driveshaft, but thanks for the link!

*cheers

black forest racing just tweeked and tuned a 08 63 amg for one of my customers [587 horse at the rear wheels] first rolling burn out and the drive shaft came flying out. ripped a hole in the rear floor board and carpet. with axles breaking on lx cars with slick's i'm sure we will see drive shafts start flying out as the coupler's start to wear with age. i check mine at every oil change/tire rotation. mine was replaced by me at 15.000 miles because of signs of deep surface cracks in it. it has to be torqued to spec at the rear housing but the yoke for the drive shaft has a lot less torque on it for install.

I've left work to be done under warrenty at the dealership.
This is the third one since I got the car at 11,000km. Two replaced under warrenty, and then "no more warrenty you abuse the car!"

They say, "Driving the SRT8 Hard is like.. off roading in a jeep.. it's not actually meant for that!"

.........

So they removed the warrenty. Kind of aggravating to see that someone on the intarnets knows more about the car than the dealerships.
