Hey guys,

I have a question about my 09 Charger 3.5L V6. I had a very loud ticking noise and just got my engine repaired today at the dealership. On my paperwork it says they replaced Rocker shafts and used these parts:

(2) 4892293AC Arm - Inlet and exhaust valve
(2) 4892146AA - Gasket - cylibder head cover
(1) 4663851 Gasket - Intake Plenum
(1) 4591250 Seal - EGR Tube
(1) 5277928 Gasket - EGR Tube Flange.

Anyways when I turn the car on from a cold start all sounds perfectly normal now. Just get a bit of ticking noise after it warms up (nowhere near what it used to be though). Here's a video showing the before and after.

https://youtu.be/xPIHiuokbKQ

Just wondering is this normal to still have a ticking noise after this fix? Could it be something else? Do I go back and complain to the dealer?

Thanks for your help!

How long have you had it back? When i rebuilt my head, I put in new Lifters and they clicked for a bit before it stopped, took a bit of time for the oil to work in. 4892293AC Arm is a new rocker assembly so the dealer should have soaked it in oil first to make sure the oil sets in. tough to say, id go back to em for sure.

Following ttonyy's line of thinking, I would make sure all is well with your oil. If the noise continues, I would certainly suggest taking it back to the dealership that performed the repair and demonstrating for them that the noise still exists.

It's only been about 24 hours and 100 kilometres of driving with it. So you're saying the noise might go away after a while? How long did they click for you?

I'm due for an oil change in about 2000 kilometres (I change it every 5k), so the oil should be fine and the level is good. Should I get it changed early this time due to the new rocker arm assembly, or is that pointless.
Just trying to learn things :nerd2:
