Top Speed shuts down cruise control system!

Here's a fairly worthless fact for most of you! There is a ceiling at which point when your car reaches it, it disables your cruise control system until you turn off the engine and restart it. I was cruising along at 80 mph and hit this giant hill and just couldn't resist opening her up. I floored it and got her up to 162.2! When I slowed back down and tried to resume the cruise the system kept turning off. I couldn't use my cruise control again until I turned off the motor and restarted the car. I think the ceiling is 160, because I once hit 154 and don't recall the system shutting down.

Also, if you ever need to recalibrate your auto up/down power windows, you press the down button until window is all the way down, then hold down for 10 seconds and then go up, and hold up 10 seconds after window reaches top and you're recalibrated.

I have to agree with you on the cruise control. The max speed I ever had my Charger is 155mph going from Temple, TX to San Angelo, TX. From Lampasses to Brownwood is a very long straight highway with zero LE. I had to at cruise the whole way with no problems. I've heard from some of the SRT owners that were at the Experience with me that at 160+ the cruise doesn't work.

I went to the parts dept. for some touch up black paint, they wanted an arm and a leg. To much $$$. I went to CVS drug store and went to where they sell nail polish. I found, would you believe it Black polish for a "buck" It works well just don't use the little brush on a ding use a tooth pick. Just coat the tip and dab the hole. Sometimes a magnifier glass will make it easier To see the hole. I even matched my Burgundy GTO's paint to a tee. Also for one dollar

Just found out-
The police duty battery fits in the RT battery box and there is a second hole to screw into. (just need a metal piece to clamp it down)

The Battery weighs 10lbs more
it has more cranking power and more reserves- it matches the premium priced dry cell both in power and warranty

AND

it was $50 LESS than the stock replacement- $80 less than the premium. :bigthumb:

How about....
If you lock the car with the key fob, after the complete 30 seconds for the alarm system to arm itself completely, you cannot press the trunk release button under the steering wheel to pop the trunk open.
Something i realized when i installed my subs in my trunk

gators57, you don't need to do anything special.
You just need to push your ESP button for about 7 seconds and you'll get no ESP at all.

On my 2012 Charger SXT Plus Blacktop, if you put your key fob (proximity fob) in the trunk, lock & close your doors & trunk lid, the trunk will automatically open again! :bigthumb: Same goes if you put the fob in the passenger compartment, close & lock the doors...she will open back up again.

I know the seats can be stopped from going to the easy exit point by going through the setup menu in the Uconnect. Just uncheck the easy exit seat button.

About the esp? i have a 2008 5.7 old police interceptor, how do you use the key trick? There seem to be different ways in different year models, anybody know?

HOLDING the ESP button is effective, it is however ONLY a 80% disable..... need to override the core speedlimiter Code (see Diablo CMR tune for more)

New Feature Discovered On My 2006

I don't recall seeing this on the "Did you know..." sticky, but if it's already widely known, I apologize.

Apparently, our cars have a built-in "Anti-Old-Fart" Alarm. Allow me to explain.

Yesterday I had some errands to go run, so I'm cruising down the road doing about 55ish (honestly officer, that's what my speedo said). After a short bit, I start getting the "Hey Dumbass" dinger. I look down and see a message on the Evic that says my Turn Signal is on. Apparently I accidentally turned it on somehow when I pulled out of the driveway (still not sure how, but I did).

Seven and a half years, 129,000 miles...and I found a new feature!
