I have been wondering if there has been a change in exhaust note on the 2018+ 392s. They sound raspier and almost like my 2019 Charger RT. When I hear a 2015-17 392 they have a deeper tone. I’ve been looking this up everywhere and can’t find the answer. I had convos with people who said they couldn’t make there 19’ 392 sound the same as their 16’ even with the same EXACT exhaust modifications. Any answers?

I think in 2017 they changed to an active exhaust and it's the same exact one in the R/T models like the Daytona.

Agree, the change to active exhaust was 2017. They sound nice from the factory.

But the 392s already had active exhaust since 2015 the RTs got it in 17.

On another forum, a member has had a model from each year since 16. He's said that his 19 was much more quiet than previous years, all Scats, all Chargers. He still hasn't figured out why.
