So today I finally got the chance to use my new PC. While I was trying to get rid of the swirls and working the doors I got irritated with the friggin door moldings trying to buff around them, so I said screw it and ripped them off.

Ok so I pulled them off, it was warm today and oddly enough they just peeled off with a tad of the sticky stuff left over. Goo Gone eliminated that.

1. You can see the insane swirl marks. (Drive thru car wash!)

2. More swirls

3. Pre Demold

4. Hmmm

5. The inside of the door molding.

6. The Molding peeled right off.

7. Close up

8. It looks worse than it is

9. Molding? What Molding??

10. No seriously? What Molding are you referring to?

11. Those sure are pretty bushes.

12. HEMI baby... HEMI!!

13. Who's that guy in the Mirror or Car Door?...

14. Well 6hrs later.....

15. Hmmmm

16. Bada Boom Bada Bing.

17. My Supervisor that sat and ate crackers while monitoring the detail.

18. The End

I'm still not satisfied with what I did. I can still see imperfections. I used 4 different products and they still wouldn't eliminate all the fine swirls, there are still some left. I'll have to recheck tomorrow when the sun comes back up.

The PC definitely saves you from getting tired, its a lot of work.

I used Meguires and Turtle Wax products and an Orange pad for the Swirl X and Polishers to try and remove the swirls friggen garbage. I have to call Adams to arrange shipping to germany.

But hey it sure does shine!

nicely done:bigthumb:
Thanks! :beerchug:

My German Neighbor/Landlord keeps pointing towards his blue VW and mumbling in german "You can do my car".....Hmmm Maybe tomorrow....
Excellent! Nice work!

Thanks for the pics. Seeing those buildings and those brick pavers sure makes me miss Germany. I loved the 4 years my wife and spent there.
I'm going on 8yrs (second tour) The last pics were taken over on Graf at the new PX they built.

Germany is great except for when you want car stuff.

:driving:
great work trying to get my wife to let mr get one it really looks good
It's much better than the Craftsman Buffer I was using!! I ordered mine through Autogeek.

Car looks real nice. I love the de-molded look. For a minute I thought I was looking at the cinderblock wall in pic 9 when I realized I was looking at the car. Nicely done.
Thank you.

The wife got home from work, I asked her, notice anything different? She was like..No.. I said the molding is gone... she was like Oh..Why?...I wanted to say because all the cool kids do it..but I told her it makes the car look better. Now she wants me to do hers.....sometimes I feel like I'm getting the short end of the stick with this whole two chargers deal...but would I dare tell her, well go peel them off? umm ..no....nuff said..lol
I'm gonna say it again..... I really need the Eibach kit to get here!!

Now if you would have ordered it through Adam's, you could have used my coupon code "Junkman", and gotten 10% off that purchase, plus some Fine Machine Car Polish which is a lot more concentrated than the stuff you used today. When using the PC, you must remember that one application may NOT fix all of the problem. It may take more applications, however, using the right and effective compounds will cut down on how many passes you must make.

I'm going to be doing some videos featuring the PC and Adam's stuff so stay tuned!

I know :slap: I need to call Adams to get the stuff shipped here. I definitely need something stronger among other things they have. 5 different Meguires, Turtle wax stuff isn't good enough, I did the hood 6 times today. Tommorow when the sun is back out I'll see where I'm at compared to today.

This is what you need. The Fine Machine Polish is concentrated so it doesn't take a lot. Read the instructions before you use it. Do not apply it in direct sunlight. The car's finish needs to be cool or it will dry too fast while you're working with it. Also, use some detail spray to spritz your pad as the scratches and swirls diminish. Then come behind that with a white pad and some SHR. Last of all, finish with the black pad and some Superwax.

You'll be so shiny that satellites in space will be blinded!
Good Job! I'm getting mine for Mother's Day! Can't wait!

Your "Supervisor" looks pretty intimidating! :D Bet she kept you from slacking off!

Your wife can do her moldings herself..... I did mine on my Mazda3, easy! Hardest part was getting the WD-40 off the doors afterward.... :) I used dental floss, just incase she's inclined to do it.... And when she's done, you can buff it all up nice and shiny for her! She'd probably even bring you a nice cold Binding while you're at it!

Did you use the PC pads or someone else's, that seems to be a hang up for me. Junkman says use Adams pads, but all the kits come with PC or lake country, or something....

lol, Thanks Junkman. I'll get my order straight in the morning. It's good to know we have you around here for some sound advice and guidance!

If you were closer, I'd show you how to do it first hand. Alas, that pond between you and I is a tad deep I hear... :D
