DISCLAIMER: I know that dealers are full of it, just wanted to share for humor

Stopped into a local delaership (Pokomoke, MD) while I'm travelling this week.
Combined Dodge/Ford place. As I park the SRT-4 and get out, saleslady tells me I should trade the SRT in. I tell her sorry, but the only car I MIGHT consider trading it for, she can't sell me.

She asks, I tell her the Charger, the SRT-8 version. She tells me.

"I can't even talk about the Charger to customers, we have to get certified to sell them becuase they are too fast" ;)

Then she asks me what "SRT version" means

Amazing, isn't it. I did find out the parts guy whipped a stock SRT-4 with his Quad Four equipped Olds Calais  Glad I got Stage 3R so I don't have to worry about meeting him on the road :D

Please oh please tell me about installing the Stage 3R!!!! I want to do that in the worst way on my SRT4 and I'm unsure about the emission laws and such.

Yeah... I've been to many dealerships and still the nicest people in the world have been the folks at Honda. When my mom was considering buying a PT Cruiser and asked me to come along, I was more than happy to. The guyselling them told us that we would buy a PT Cruiser and that we didn't have a choice about it. I figured he was just sure of the product and such. But then when he refused to show us to the Liberty's (it was a Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge place) and when we were leaving he yelled "You'll be back!" We bought a Honda just to spite the Chrysler dealership... Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!

Dealers do have to go through a "Certification" process in order to sell the SRT line of cars.

I'm sure it is even more diffcult to get than the 5 Star "Certification" ;)

Shit, not SRT-4s, or if so, it's worthless, I've yet to meet any saleperson yet who has 1/10th of the knowledge I have. Now, I know a lot about SRT-4s, but any "certification program" worth its cost should produce some result. I know for a fact that my local dealer has sold at least 4 or more SRT-4s and two SRT-10 Rams and has not one "certified" person.

I really only think that applies to Vipers.

Trust me on this on, I have many friends that work for Dealers.

They have one sales person take an open book exam, etc....

How many 5 Star Dealers are there? MANY

How many deserve it? Maybe one in ten. (And my dad used to work for a Dealer)

I was an Info Tech Sales guy for seven years, and it always pi$$e$ me off when I know more about the car I was buying than the sales person. I had new technology coming out everyday, this guy has a few cars come out once a year. Most Car Sales people are worthless. The last couple of cars I haggled via phone and e-mail, and bought it from the guy who earned my business.

Groovy. I probably wouldn't be the best cars salesman because I do enjoy voicing my opinion... though I could be decietful when I'm starving from lack of commission.

Heh , guys, even those of us Performance Dealers love to get in the act. After getting stroked by another Dealer for quite awhile he finally asked me what SRT stood for ( we had been talking about the Ram ), and I told him I was pretty sure it stood for " Super Radical Truck." He thanked me, as he said he figured I would know. Just haven't had the heart to call him back and tell him it really is for "Safety Runflat Tires!!!"

Oh, well, life is short, and ya gotta have fun. :)
